Hotpot ahead! Grab the PackTowel

We recently returned from Iceland, staying in hostels and going swimming almost every day. PackTowels and face clothes were used one to three times a day. After 9 days they had not been washed and still were fresh. We have been using PackTowels since they first came on the market. I was surprised by the number of tavelers in Iceland using this product.

A paper towel works better

This is essentially a piece of thin, stiff, non-absorbent construction paper. I bought it because I thought it was the same as my old MSR pack towel which, 10 years later, is still going strong. This towel is not absorbent, does not dry even after 12 hours or more, and does not wring out easily. As if that were not bad enough, if you wash it with other items, they may all turn the color of this towel, because it bleeds dye like crazy. You would be better off packing a paper towel on your next trip. I will be eagerly returning this ASAP. Thankfully REI has good customer service so it should not be a big hassle.

Surprisingly Satisfying

I bought this on my way out of town for a weeklong flying trip. I was skeptical but baggage space is limited in the small vintage airplanes I fly, so I figured a backpacking-type towel might be a good fit. I bought the beach size because I didn't want to have a lackluster shower experience, and it is pretty giant. I think I would have been perfectly happy with the next size down, but it was still a quarter the size of my regular towel or smaller. It dried me well and dried out quickly (it was dry out which helped, but it was dry within an hour) and t never felt like a compromise which is the highest compliment I can give. Love it!

Best choice for travel/backpacking

I'll never travel with a regular towel again. This is a great space/weight saver. Some of the other microfiber towels feel "scratchy" on my skin-this one does not at all. Even after months of washing, it is still soft and in great condition. I'm slender and 5'9" and I can wrap the body size around myself and be completely covered. I would buy the beach size next time, because I also use it at the beach. The sand shakes off of these towels really quickly, and they dry quickly even in humid conditions. It never smelled bad either. Seriously great towel. 100% recommend.

Love these towels!

I love these towels! If you are looking for a thick, soft, luxurious, cozy towel to cuddle up in, this is NOT that product. It’s not to wear—it’s to dry you off. However, if you want to travel light and still have all the function of a regular cotton terry towel, but you need it to dry quickly, this is the solution. I bought the personal pack towel size first, and I liked it so much that I bought the XL to wrap around my body and to use as a beach towel. I always dry off at the gym showers, beach, or pool with the personal size towel. It is extremely absorbent and does the job very well. If it becomes soaked, you just wring it out, and it can continue to dry you even while wet. I stick the small towel in a plastic bag, and then I can use the bigger towel to wrap around my body (while walking from shower to locker) or to lounge on as a beach towel. I wash the towels by hand or machine, and they have never bled, even when I stuff them in a bag with my white athletic socks while wet. I hang them up to dry, and they dry quickly. Very functional for travel, camping, beach and gym.

Bought it 4 years ago, still use it on every trip

I got this product for my first long trip to Europe, it was packed in this super small bag, extra lightweight, no space taking at all. And I was so happy, the first time I used it it was definitely not the best feel in my skin, it's rough and not soft, but if you do taps on your skin instead of rubbing it works as a charm. It absorbs a lot of water and you can wash in it the morning leaving it soaking wet and (in the sun) it will dry in like 2 hours. When I don't have time to dry it I just hang it out of my backpack and it will dry on the way to the airport. I 100% recommend this product. (I'm actually here to maybe buy my second one). Although about the odors, it does smell bad after a few days, but again, it's easy to wash and dry.

Great for travel

Lets be honest, I was skeptical about this one. I had one in the past and it was a lot like a car towel. But I have to say that this one is a great improvement over the last one! It doesn't feel like a normal towel, but for those of us limited on space, it fits the bill. I used it on a trip to Central America. Since I could only do laundry once a week the towel didn't smell and dried quickly.

Pack Towel for the Win!

Fantastic little towel for life on the go. My partner and I van life and these towels pack a lot of punch while taking up little space. Our go-to towel for drying off while on the go. Only thing I wish the manufacturer did differently was create a mesh bag for storage (in lieu of they nylon-y one) just to allow for some breathing if packed away while slightly damp. Either way, you can't go wrong with this powerful little towel!

Great pack towel

I bought this for a geology (volcanology) trip and it performed excellent! It clings to water to dry your skin off so the towel may seam like it is sticking to you when in actuality it is absorbing all the water leaving your skin waterless.

Awesome

Works amazing. It sticks to your body a lot when you are wet, but that is because of how absorbent it is. I love this. I always use it when I travel or hike to lakes and rivers. I use it when I swim at the gym and simply ring it out and it is ready to go.
