Great

I was looking for a pack with some compartments as the typical internal frame packs seemed like big sacks. Found this online for a great price and I love how comfortable it is. Just returned from a 2 night trip with about 35 pounds and it was great. A little small for all of my stuff but I'm getting used to the various areas to store things on the outside. My non-down sleeping bag just barely fit in the compartment. I'll have to get a down bag so it'll fit without sitting on the thing. I like how I can stow my pump in one side pocket for really easy access. I'd probably prefer a little bit larger bag but for the price and features this is great.

Great Pack!

Let me start by saying that I could not decide between this pack and Ospery Ariel 65 for a while! After reading many reviews online and trying both packs at REI with sandbags, I decided to buy this one and I am very happy with my decision. My first trip using this pack was an 11 mile hike, 2500 ft elevation gain with a load of about 40 lbs. I honestly didn't feel the weight at all! I was very happy with the way the pack sat on my hips and after the shoulder straps were adjusted initially I was super comfortable in it. I packed my down sleeping bag in a compression sack and it was easily fit in the lower compartment. The front access is very convenient to grab something without opening the top. As for the weight, the Ospery was a little lighter but since I am not a minimalist I appreciate the extra pockets although they make the pack a bit heavier. Overall I am very happy with this pack and I am looking forward to using it in outdoors and travel backpacking trips.

Great pack

I used this pack for an overnight trip, but had packed intending on a 2 or 3 night trip. It was about 35 lbs. fully loaded. There are two hydration compartments conveniently located on either side of the pack. The shoulder straps have velcro sections where you can thread your hydration tube through for ease of use. I only needed to use one hydration pack and forgot to offset my pack to compensate for the water on one side, making my first day of hiking uncomfortable, as the pack leaned to the right and pulled on my left shoulder all day. After adjusting for this on the second day, the pack was much more comfortable. The padding on your back is wonderful and allows air to pass between you and the pack, keeping you more comfortable. There are tons of straps and clips which would allow you to carry a much smaller load and compress the bag, but I had mine fully loaded. The sleeping bag compartment at the bottom is small, but with a compression sack, it easily accommodated my synthetic, somewhat large sleeping bag. There are small pouches at the front on both sides of the pack where you could put lip balm or klenex in for easy reach, but I find using the pockets of my cargo shorts more convenient. I was a little surprised that there is only one outer pouch to hold water bottles or other items that you want to reach quickly as opposed to two pouches, but I wouldn't not buy this pack just because of that issue. I look forward to future trips and learning more about how to maximize space and minimize weight. I think this pack is great, particularly for the price!
