Just what my bike needed.

I was looking for something to hold my bike while it is in the garage. This is perfect, didn't want to spend too much money on a repair stand or even think about hanging it from the ceiling from the wheels. Too much money goes into these road/mountain bikes for it to be just hung from it's wheels. Comes in black, seems sturdy enough for a road bike, holds nicely in place from the rear wheel and when it isn't used you can fold it and hold it in place using built in lock button. Very pleased and I would recommend this. See photos.

Not for big tires

I've used this stand in the past in bike shops and it works great with smaller tires mounted on narrower rims. I've tried my stand with both 2.35" and 2.4" rear tires on Azonic Outlaw and WTB Laserdisc Trail rims. All combinations were just wide enough so that the rear wheel did not easily slide into the slot and between the roller wheel. To get it to fit you must push the rear wheel down into the slot. This is an OK solution but not as easy as it could be. The size issue isn't a shortcoming of the rack per se; but it would be nice to see the manufacturer start making a wider version.

Exactly what I needed

This device is exactly what I needed. I don't have much space and can't hang up my two bikes. One is a 29" mountain bike and yes, the tire fit with no problems and the other is a road bike. I used to have the bikes scraping on each other, falling over on each other, and leaning up against the lawnmower. The racks were inexpensive and work perfectly. No assembly; take them out of the box and they're ready to go! They stand by themselves. Yes, they could be pushed over, if you push them hard, but that's not the point. This is my first ever written review, but I was so happy, I wrote this.

Flawless

I always lifted my bike and stored it hanging from the ceiling. Thinking there must be a better way for garage storage during the summer, I purchased this rack. The bike is quite stable; more stable with the rear tire than the front tire in the rack. Easy to take in the car rather than leaning my bike against the car while getting ready for a ride. To inflate tires, simply put the bike in the rack, hold the rack steady with your foot, lift the bike slightly and rotate the tire until the valve stem is in the right position. Should have purchased it earlier.

Fits all my bikes. 2.3 wide no problem

I read a lot of reviews and the ones that got me the most nervous were complaints about 29er MTB tires not fitting. Well I have a 29x2.3 Specialized Ground Control mounted to a 35mm inner rim width and I fit this Rakk without any problems. It's a tight fit but it does not cause me any heartache. I have 4 very different kinds of bikes and I'm happy with how they all fit. Fixie, DJ, Tribike, and 29er trail. See pic.

Amazing bike stand!!!

I purchased five of these stands for my bikes and they are exactly as described. I have different kinds of bikes with tires ranging from 23 mm to 2.4” and these stands work with ALL of them! Do not hesitate to buy this stand. You will NOT be disappointed.

You Won't Find A Better Floor Stand

I did not purchase mine at REI because I needed a White one for my place, but if Black works for you, REI is the best place to get it. Every few years a revolutionary product comes along that changes the face of the way we normally do things. This is one of them. I have been using different stands for years, this is the best one. The stand only touches your tire--never the rim, and is so stable you can clean, lube, and adjust your bike on it like I do all the time. It's high quality and light enough to take in the car to ready or clean the bike before/after a race/ride. No need to lean your bike up against your car or other things. I am even considering getting another one just to leave in the car. It fold flat and opens easy and looks professional. It holds the front or rear tire just as well. I really don't see getting any other floor stand--it will take a long time if not never to make improvements on this design. Wish I owned the patent on it. Everyone with a bike at home, office or garage needs one to avoid falls and damage.

Makes bike storage easy!

We live in a small loft with very little storage. Our bikes were being propped up by the wall which wasn't very convenient to get at. Plus the bikes were scraping the wall. We wanted something that would have the bikes upright, not requiring mounting on the wall or screwing bolts into the floor, would hold two bikes and wouldn't be prohibitively expensive. This bike rack fits all of our needs. We bought two and they connected easily. They hold the bikes upright and we can get them in and out without difficulty. We are very happy with our purchase!

Like the concept! But, didn't work for our bikes.

Bought 2 Townie 21D EQ bikes. Both have baskets on the front and fenders. Couldn't use the rear wheel to secure due to the fenders. Front does fit and it holds, but due to the length of the bicycles and the extra weight of the baskets on the bikes... It tended to wobble around a bit more than I like. Should work well for shorter or bikes that are not so front heavy. We ended up returning them at the store and I found a great pair of hiking shoes! Win Win :) For the Electra Townies, I ended up replacing the kick stand with a double leg bicycle center stand and that works very well on both. Hope this helps.
