Works well enough...
I've been using this soap for years and I like it enough to keep purchasing it... But, it takes quite a bit for washing up after long days in the saddle (specifically bikepacking). I'm guessing the reason for this is due to the low concentrations of surfactants in the soap, which it much better for the environment as compared to regular soaps that are full of surfactants, phosphates, etc. (all terrible for water quality). The best way to use this soap is to use a rag and a dab of soap to wash up with, vs just putting the soap directly onto your skin and washing. Also, wash up using a pot of water and get as far from the waterbody as possible so you don't introduce the soap directly into the waterbody. My $0.02.
Fantastic Shampoo!
I bought this for washing laundry in my Scrubba bag, but then the pandemic started. So, I thought I would try it out as a shampoo. I have used Dr. Bronner's soap, and as a shampoo, it leaves a waxy feeling to my hair. I was really surprised at what a great, sudsy shampoo this is! My hair comes out silky and sqeaky clean.
great shampoo
Brought it on a kayaking trip in lake Powell and was great for my curls, wanted to bring soap because I have pretty long hair for a dude and it gets really dry and annoying when I don’t wash it and I didn’t wanna go for the buzz cut. Made my hair really smooth and soft and didn’t stop it from curling. Used as body wash and dish soap as well and worked well for that too. Does not have a noticeable smell so I would like to try the citronella kind. Bought extra bottle to keep in car in case of last minute camping trips with the boys.
Definitely super concentrated...to a fault
This stuff is good soap. Literally a drop will take care of most of your needs. It will work best if you have some kind of sink or reservoir to dilute it in. That's because it is really super concentrated. It does not make suds, so sometimes it's hard to tell how soapy you've made the water. This can be an issue because after you have rinsed your dishes etc. they will often still be soapy and it can be hard to tell, until you put it in your mouth and taste soap :-P That said, it will clean your stuff and go a long way for such a small bottle.
Great for Travel
I have been taking Wilderness Wash on trips for the past ten years. By using it rinse shirts, socks and underwear I have been able to cut my packing significantly to travel for 3 to 4 weeks with a carryon bag. The soap cleans well in many water types.
the ingredients
cleans well, but wish it didn't use palm oil derivatives
Good All Purpose Soap
Been using this for years. Mostly for washing dishes backpacking and bathing but have also used to wash hair sometimes and works well enough. Like the small container and lasts a long time.
Great all purpose soap
Minimal fragrance, a little goes a long way. Doesn't foam much but still does the job for personal hygiene. Great for dishes. Will buy again
Slippery when wet!
Have used several Sea to Summit products in this line. Ingredients aside, their products work well. As a pilot traveling to various locations in the world, I've used this to do laundry as well as wash my hair. It's one product that you have to carry when liquids are a TSA target in your luggage.
No residue
I washed dishes with this and then went to campground shower and washed my body and (long thick) hair with it. Wow hey... I think I want to use this as my regular shampoo!
