Fragile Tire Levers

I recently tried to use this tool to rotate the tires on my road bike and ended up breaking both tire levers. I am not sure what they are made of but they are extremely fragile and would have left me stranded if I was on a ride. The rest of the tool appears to be of good quality though.

I broke it

I tested the chain tool at home. The hex piece in the tire lever stripped out the first time I used the chain tool to set a pin. If I'd been on the road I'd still be sitting there. Trading it in for replacement.

Has survived the test of time

I have had this tool since I bought my first real mountain bike, so over 12 years ago. I've taken apart, rebuilt, and repaired multiple bikes using no more than this tool. I dare say I've even abused it, using the flathead to chisel ice, leaving it out in the rain, dirt and mud. I haven't seen any of the problems other reviewers have like broken tire levers or a stripped out chaintools, but the levers are some sort of polomer or plastic. Its simply great, I never ride without it.

Bad tyre levers

It good except the tyre levers which both broke. Before they broke they where flimsy and hard to use because I felt like if I pushed on them to hard they would brake and they did

Great tool for emergencies.

I would never use this in lieu of full size tools I keep in the garage, but this is great to carry in case of emergencies. You can turn every bolt or screw on your ride, the chain breaker and tire irons also work well and I've had to use both on the side of the road. You will not regret having this with you when you need it. And you will eventually need it.

Great For Trail Side Repairs/Adjustments

Bought this one to replace another multitool I wasn't happy with any more. I have used this tool while riding on the single track a few times to make adjustments to my brakes and the bolts which hold my seat onto the seat post. I have also used it at home. It works great, feels durable, and hasn't broke during normal use. I'm not concerned about the weight it adds to my pack and besides it's minimal at best. I think it's a good tool to have in my pack for emergencies. It's very well constructed and shouldn't fall apart like my older cheaper one. The only con I can think of is that there's a hexagon cap that normaly is attached to one of the allan wrenches which you can remove in order to get a smaller size wrench. It's fairly easy to drop or misplace this cap part when you remove it, especially if outdoors. It'd be nice if they simply added another allan wrench to the tool rather then resorting to the use of this 'cap'. There is a star shaped cap you can use and it has a special holder slot in the tool to store it. I'd prefer if they'd done that with this cap, too. Not a major flaw, though. I also like the fact it has tire levers built into it. A little trick getting off the tool the first time, but no issue now. This won't replace all your tools in the garage, but that's not the point. This is a tool I feel will last a long time and has the necessary tools to resolve most trail side repairs/adjustments I may encounter.

Nice, lightweight tool

This is a reasonably priced bike tool that does all that you need it to do for routine maintenance. I like it because it is half the size and weight of my old bike tool and it easier to manage when working in tight spaces on your bike.

Passes long-term test

Purchased at least 4yrs ago, has every tool a MTB or roadie will need for on the trail fixes, the most space efficient multi tool I’ve found, and I can take apart nearly my entire full suspension MTB with this little tool. I’m here buying a second one b/c a friend is getting into biking and this is an amazing beginners tool that I’ve continued to use as an amateur mechanic. I’ve used the chain tool at least 10times by now and, unlike other reviewers comments, mine is still doing great. When at home instead of reaching for my full hex set I often pick up the multi tool because it fits in my pocket, and has the benefit of having the T25 which I need for my brakes/shifters. There is a bolt hidden under the tire levers that you can tighten/loosen if the tools are too loose/too stiff to move around. I’m surprised I haven’t lost the magnetically-fixed 8mm hex, but it’s never fallen off and it’s been down some very bumpy trails. The ergonomics of the tool (i.e. shorter 1.5mm hex) is not perfect, but for goodness sake it’s a friggen multitool people! If you want perfect handles/tool length then get a shop-specific tool set, not a multi tool.

Has all the basic handtools, but some shortcomings

I was looking for a multi-tool with a chain tool included. There are several to chose from around the same price so I just picked this one. I didn't like the fact that I wasn't able to get all the tools out with just my hands due to lack of room to get my fingers around them. I had to pop off one of the tire levers and use that to pry out all the tools (except the chain tool). I wasn't sure at first how to use the chain tool since the wrenches and chain tool do not detach from the main housing. I popped off the other tire lever and found a metal hex head incorporated into the lever. I never got to try it, but knowing how much torque is required to operate a chain tool, I don't know how well the metal head will hold up molded into a plastic tire lever. Like I said, I just picked this one, and wasn't too happy so I plan to take it back and try another one. Having no experience with other multi-tools yet, they may all have similar shortcomings.

Best Bike Multitool I've found

This is a great multitool - it's got all the parts you need for most bike repair either on the road/trail or even in the garage. I've bought a bunch of them and it's the best I've had in many years. I just wish one of these tool guys would make a locking screwdriver bit though. None of the bike tools do a good job with this and they always want to fold up on you. At least with this one, you can adjust the tension.
