best mini tool I've owned in 15 years...

I've been using this Topeak Mini 18+ tool for about 3 or 4 years. It's simply the best mini tool I've used since I started riding mtn. bikes 15 years ago and I have tried many. The materials are durable - allen keys and torx drivers are as sharp as they were when new. When the tool arms get loose from use, you can tighten them with the included allen key and make the arms snug again. I've taken it on many wet/muddy rides and it's always performed. Treat this tool well, it's steel. Wipe it off when you come back from a wet/muddy ride and you will never see "pitting" or rust like the other poster did. It's chain tool is robust - I use it as my primary chain breaker in my home bike repair shop (wrenching 5 bikes). I'm constantly pulling this tool out of my seat bag to repair other guys bikes on our group rides. This Topeak's chain tool outperformed the Park Tool counterpart just 2 days ago on an mtb ride where we had a snapped chain... I'd definitely buy again... but I won't need to cause this one will last another decade or two more it seems.

Not that practical

Had the small topeak, lost it so tried this one. I had to play with my limiter screws for rear derailer and the hex levers were just so short with the big body of the tool that they were virtually unusable. Really disappointed.

Great everything tool for Mountain and Gravel bike

Over the last few weeks, i have had the opportunity to break in the Topeak Mini 18 on the trail. The hex wrenches have proven very handy (including in the kitchen working on a refrigerator). Compared to the tool it has replaced, I think it is a bit lighter and much sturdier. I have been please with its fit into my pack. This is a tool I would certainly recommend to anyone who would be far enough from the vehicle to need to tackle trail repairs. If I needed to make any modification or improvements, I would probably add a small blade. Cheers, Alex

The essentials

Smaller than most multi-tools, but full-featured enough to meet most needs. The only thing that's really missing is a pedal wrench, but there's a 10 mm Allen key, if your pedals have that fastening system. All the other small Allen keys are available, plus a Torx key (I think it's a T-10; the common, smaller size you see on modern bikes), and both Phillips and flat bladed screwdrivers. The chain tool is ingeniously stowed between the frame members of the tool, and there is a small tire lever and a bottle open/spoke wrench, my two favorites in one! Lighter than my more full-featured multi-tools, this is the one I'll make sure is always with me, since there is almost no penalty for carrying it. Well made, and very sturdy tool with so much good stuff in a tiny little package. Also includes a neoprene case with Velco closure, to protect other items in your bag from damage. Great option if weight is a concern, but you can't bear to be without the essential tools for keeping a bike operating smoothly.

Practical tool

This is a very useful compact tool. I used it to make micro adjustments to my bicycles. It came in handy many times when I was outside. It is not like the actual tools which are longer but many adjustments can be made in the wild, instead of carrying them all all the time.

This Topeak Tool makes you less a Fool.

I like most Topeak items. This does not disappoint as many tools are packed into one unit. Great if you’re trying to reduce weight or if you just have limited space to pack bike tools. You can perform a multitude of functions to keep you on the road or trail with this tool. I really enjoy the utility of this tool. I fully recommend it!

Rust City

All the right tools you need in a function design, but poor materials lead to lots of rust everywhere pitting. Tire lever also chipped while using it for its intended purpose.

Mini with a punch

I've needed to use this four times and it's incridibly strong, useful and dependable. Can't say I want to use the chain tool, but something tells me it will perform as good as the other tools.

This thing is Great!

It has everything you need, nothing more, nothing less. AND the pouch it comes with keeps it from punchuring anything else in my bike bag.

Small and capable

Very small format with lots of tools - the integrated apple wrenches are a nice addition. Is missing a wrench or two for hex head nuts/bolts, but otherwise very good
