Rated 5 out of 5 by from rainy day driver for mailman in the Pacific NW I deliver mail and this shoe is essentially my daily driver for any light or medium rainy days, which there are a lot of in Western Washington. The outsole is fantastic. The shoe is stable. It breathes well, even up to about seventy degree weather. Beyond that, even an eVent waterproof shoe get a little too warm. This is my second pair. Only issue I have seen with it is that some care should be taken with the heel when inserting the foot; I did tear up the inside of the heel of the shoe due to me just cramming my foot into it; just use your hands to gently put the shoe on and it should be fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Shoes These shoes are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I has some Merrell Chameleons before that I thought couldn't be beat and these Tevas blow the Chameleons right out of the water. They have great traction, terrific support , very good finish/construction, and are a good looking shoe in shorts or jeans. However, it's the comfort that blows me away....there is nothing else like them. I've have only owned my first set of these shoes for a few months, but I'm going to buy a second pair just in case they change the design by the time the first ones wear out.....I may a third!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great hiking shoe, but too wide I bought these as a fresh pair for some hard-core hiking and climbing in the Adirondacks, to climb 3-5 of the big 46 peaks. I wear a 9 in most hiking shoes so I tried on this 9 and it fit great in the store. I wore them around the house and light usage for about a week to break them in. Very comfortable. However, these shoes run VERY wide. I wear a d-width shoe and these were still too wide (see photos - tightened to the max). I had to tighten the laces and far as humanly possible to keep the rubbing to a minimum. I wore thick Thorlo hiking socks and still had trouble. Great traction on slick rocks and steep surfaces, but the width ruined them for me. I'll use the for casual only now. For hard-core hiking and climbing, I will go back to my 6 year old Scarpa's.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kept my feet warm and dry in Korea This is my first pair of hiking shoes, so weigh my review accordingly. I purchased these prior to my winter trip to Korea, hoping they'd a) be comfortable, b) be durable, and c) keep my feet warm and dry in the Korean snow. Let's just say -- mission accomplished. They were surprisingly comfortable right out of the box. I didn't feel the stiffness of the shoe until a few days later, expressed as some minor foot/arch fatigue (this after spending a full 12 hour day walking around the city). I spent a month and a half in the country and they still look great. A good, rugged shoe. I have no complaints. (I'm reserving a star to see how well they break in and wear while in Alaska in a month.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Features, Poor Fit. This is great light weight and versatile hiking shoe although this shoe fits in a very particular way. The back of the shoe is very stiff and the back of shoe angles towards the front of the shoe quite a bit. My foot does not mesh well with this type of fitting. I went out on a few mile walk to start breaking them in and within a mile both of my Achille tendons where rubbed raw and bleeding. The shoe has great traction and has the Event feature for breathability and waterproof. When you try out these shoes make sure you lace them up good and walk around the store a lot. If you feel the back of the shoe digging into your Achilles this may not be the shoe for you. I was really hoping this shoe would work out for me, although my foot is not agreeing. I hope this helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes in a variety of conditions Have had these shoes for 6 months and use them when boots are too cumbersome, but lighter trail shoes don't provide sufficient protection. Just got off a quick 8-mile day hike in Turkey Run State Park, where these shoes provided excellent comfort, stability, and traction on muddy trails and short 'Indiana canyon' scrambles. Can't say enough about the simultaneous breathability and waterproofness of these shoes. I've been ankle-deep several times with these shoes, and while the upper part of my sock has been soaked (in mud or water), my feet were comfortable and dry for the rest of the trip. Also, they clean up nicely afterwards. Last thing, these fit wide feet - the toe box is really amazing for those of us that can't get into narrower counterparts, and the lacing system makes for a nice, customized fit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Watch out for the seam in the heal. I put this shoe on and really enjoyed it. I was amazed at the comfort level. I asked an employee what the reaction to this shoe was and he said none as it really hasn't sold that well. I was surprised as it was so comfy, but I was more surprised at the blisters these shoes gave me on my first little hike. There was no warning of this in the store or walking around the house. Out on the trail after I felt the blisters coming on, I took the shoe off to have a look and there is a really big seam that runs horizontally in the middle of the heal. That is just a bad design. I did not notice this in the store. I thought blisters from shoes has gone the way of the dodo bird. But I guess not. I really can't remember the last time a shoe gave me blisters in the heal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoes, but... I love these shoes. They were super comfortable and were waterproof as advertised. I used them in all terrains. They are best for wet or muddy hikes were you won't have to go through super deep puddles. They are not great for hot warm dry hikes because they don't breath too well. In wintery conditions they are great for general walking around and keeping your feet dry. I was disappointed in how quickly the soles wore out for vibram sole that's all. Other than that they are a great shoe.

My husband wears a 12 Wide in Merrell shoes and boots.  I know Keen runs wide, but would a Keen 12 be ok, since there isn't a Wide option?

Asked by: KandE
I am a female who usually wears a men's 8.5 wide in Merrell due to arthritis. Before the arthritis got too bad I wore a woman's 10. I just purchased this shoe at my local REI in a men's 9.5 (I usually go up a half size in a waterproof shoe) and they fit me perfectly. Definitely wide enough for me.

Are they good for winter? Are they warm? Thanks!

Asked by: andres
These shoes can be worn in winter. The nubuck leather offers some warmth, however they are not insulated.
