Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot food cool hands I got this bowl to replace an old plate I've had for a while. I had looked around for a lightweight durable bowl I could use in the trail, and this is the best option I found for the price. The hex design on the bottom does really help with heat reduction on the hands but careful if you touch the sides. The thumb grip on the side is nice too, keeps the bowl very stable in your hands. The first time I used it I had Chili mac and it stained a little bit, there are a few darker grey spots on the bowl(mines grey btw) but that doesn't bother me. It does clean out pretty easy, just make sure to clean in right away, that was my own mistake of letting it stain. All in all its a great product, just don't let it sit around dirty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the Job Done Hiking or Office I personally have one of the original Delta bowls in a more subdued gray color. I like this bowl a lot. It's strong and sturdy and cleans easily after eating. The loop-hole also functions as a great latch point if you want to hang it from your bag to dry, not to mention a good spot to use your thumb to hold and balance the bowl. The only thing I can't agree on is heat transfer - if you have this bowl full of soup it will most definitely be hot to the touch no matter where you touch it. So I wouldn't recommend it on ability to protect from heat or burns. Even so, ever since I got it, it's been my go to. I only wish I could buy a lid separately to go with the bowl I already have!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Performer I bought this as a microwavable bowl for making soup and oatmeal in my tent (in Iraq). It's large enough to cook a whole brick of ramen, or two pouches of oatmeal. The handle is great, since the bowl conducts heat pretty well. It also makes it handy to hang and dry. The honeycomb on the bottom makes it easy to hold, if need be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good general purpose bowl I got this for camping, but use it a lot at work for oatmeal now. It's portable and the curved design makes it easy to hold and scrape food off of the sides. Heat stays in the bowl and makes it comfortable to hold on to. I recently noticed that there are graduation markers on the side (100mL, 250mL, 500mL...or something like that); the marks don't show up well to me since they're molded in and the bright orange colour washes them out. Not that big of a deal to me though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased I'm very pleased with this bowl. I use it for backpacking, BWCA paddling trips and car camping. There are lighter bowls on the market, but this is very sturdy and I really appreciate the little handle. The only downside is that they don't fully nest together, leaving some air space, but I'm on the REI site buying two more now, so I guess I really like them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Food for Thought I love these bowls for weekend outings when space is not as much of a commodity. However, it should be noted that if you are planning a through hike or an extended stay in backcountry when the precious space in your pack is calculated to the cubic inch, they do not stack flush with other Delta Bowls. Also to note, the Sea to Summit spoon/fork combo utensil does not fit inside the bowl either. Other than those issues they are solid performers and clean very easily. Even with foods that tend to stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice for eating. Used this on a 4 day hike. Pretty rigid but it's failsafe. I love the thumb grip and never got burned by holding anything hot. Cleaned up very easy. Still not sure what the version with the lid is for. Jammed in my pack for days, also thru the dishwasher and no sign of any problems or deformation.
