GlacierGel = lifesaver
I went on a long day hike today with new hiking boots and I already had blisters on my heels from shoes I had worn a couple of weeks before. A recipe for disaster, right? Wrong! Thanks to my new GlacierGel patches, my blisters were not only protected but also healed as I hiked! When I took off my boots and socks after a steep 10-mile climb, my blisters had healed even more than when I had started the hike. I will keep a pack of these every time I go on a long hike from now on. Amazing!
Good whilst it lasted....which wasn’t long.
I’ve used these a few times now and every time I do I’m disappointed. I’m from the UK and I’m used to using the very excellent Compeed blister plasters. I have not seen these stateside yet so I thought I’d try the Glaciergel. The first time I used them, I had instant relief, which was great but within 30 minutes it had rubbed off. This most recent time I purchased an adhesive as recommended by the REI associate and not only did it still run off but as it was under the bridge of my big toe, the gel separated and was squeezing between my toes, which I absolutely hated. As I said, good whilst it lasted but it didn’t last long. They need to improve their product drastically.
excellent addition to your backpack
Excellent little kit to add to your blister kit. Great for those blisters that clients normally get within the first couple of miles of a hike. Bag self seals meaning that it stays tidy and waterproof.
best stuff ever
I took these with me to Kilimanjaro, and they are the best stuff ever to place over a blister. The one down side is that the edges rolled up easily then the bandage would come off, it was easily solved by placing some duct tape over it. It lasted for 3 days on my hike down the mountain. It provided protection and cushioning, now keep a few in my backpack at all times.
Feels fantastic!
I had the displeasure of getting a blister almost immediately on a backpacking trip recently. I stopped on the side, went through the steps to patch it up with Glacier Gel and before long, I had no idea it was even there anymore. Fantastic product that works great!
Excellent product
These things are great. I usually use them as a preventative measure, on the areas of my feet where I am prone to get blisters. They'll stick for days, if the area is clean and dry when you apply them. I've also found them to provide good cushioning when I'm having bunion pain...though they aren't advertised for that, I've used them that way. Far superior to moleskin, and easier to use.
Life Saver
For that backpacking trip where you thought your boots were broken in but they really weren’t...these things will save you tons of pain. Typically they will get caught on your socks so be careful removing socks but I love these things and never leave home without them
Best Blister Care Out There!
I keep these in stock for my teenage son. He plays a lot of sports & prefers these instead of bandages for blisters. We’ve tried others but these really do protect, heal & cushion. Once they’re put on correctly...they stay on & do the trick!
Doesn't last
I bought this and second skin. I used this on my foot first, and it didn't last an hour! Then, I got a nasty scratch on my neck that my hair was aggravating, applied it, and it sweated off within 2 hours. Smacked my shin hard, so used the 2nd skin and it lasted 2 days!
Must have in first aid kit
Purchased before a 20 mile hike got a blister on the way back this kit helped me get back down to my car
