Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gadget! I'm not a knot person, so I decided to try these out. What a neat little gadget! The alligator end accepts a rope quite simply, and allows you to cinch it down to achieve tension. The other end attaches a loose end of rope using a different method, or it can attach mid-span by pulling a loop of rope through. There are many ways to deploy this device, the included instructions show a few variations. Best part, no struggling to untie knots! This works great for setting up a clothesline in camp or cinching guy out lines on a tent or tarp. Price and weight are negligible for the utility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sort Of Depressing, Really. Forty-five-plus years after being a Boy Scout I had to look up my bowline and taughtline hitch knots. The bowline is easy but I still could not get my TLH's to be consistant and pretty. I felt like a real outdoorsy kinda guy again. I was curious about these tensioners and bought four for my tent. They are amazing! But I don't feel as macho as I did when I tied my knots. Oh well...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping it simple - and strong When going to Baja you MUST bring equipment to prevent exposure. Setting up a 4 season tent is the ticket and this little device kept our canvas tent secure when the North winds picked up. I bougt 4 of these gems and wish I had more however I am positive without them we would of woke up to a folded over, wind blown tent on our heads in the middle of the night. The 4 additional, easiliy set up, guylines did the trick and I'll be picking up more soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the Figure 9 small is the best way to tie down the tent line the Figure 9 small is the best way to tie down the tent lines that I have ever seen. Just attache on end to the line and loop the line around stake pull back to figure the bottom of figure nine and loop, pull tight and put line with the locking teeth. Then when you are ready to leave, pull out line from teeth and you are done. No knots to untie and it never comes loose, plus figure nine is now attached to line for next use. I love it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dynamic! This figure 9 worked great when setting up my tarp on a recent camping trip. It really made setup and take down much easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made it easy to tie up tarp in mountain winds I got these before a camping trip in the rocky mountains to help set up a tarp over out tent. I was really amazed at how easy these little tools made it to apply enough tension to the rope to keep our tarp pulled tight. The lines stayed taut using these things even though rain, snow and crazy mountain winds (I dont know the speed, but it was moving).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use these all over our sailboat & have never seen slippage. Use these all over our sailboat & have never seen slippage. Use them on heavy duty tarps with 40 mph winds making the tarp flap like crazy & no problem. The teeth are not sharp & do not wear or cut into the lines/cord/rope either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for securing guylines I use it to secure guy lines on my REI Quarterdome T2. It's easy and stays secure. It helps you keep the rainfly taut. Only downside is that it's small and painted black so it's hard to find it at night.
