Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be any more ideal I received this hammock as a Christmas gift in December. It has seen much use since then. I have set it up anywhere that I can find space including indoors and outdoors. The ENO hammock is compact and able to fit in a day pack that I use for trail running. The only recommendation I have for the purchaser is to go get some 550 paracord to set it up because it does not come ready to set up out of the package. I suppose you could use the ENO slap straps however I prefer a less bulky set up (550 is cheaper also). Overall, this hammock can be set up in a basement or a forest. It is machine washable and very durable. Quality design with the consumer in mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth every penny I bought this hammock in preparation for future camp outs, but I've taken to bringing it outside and chilling out for a few hours. I haven't gotten a chance to test it in a camp setting yet, but if I were to hazard a guess I'd say that it would do very well. I will have to buy the bug net though, since mosquitoes are capable of getting through the fabric on the bottom and biting the occupant on the back, which, considering everything else about the hammock is something I can deal with even without the net. It is hard to lie on my side in it, but since I don't really sleep that way any way it makes no difference to me. All in all it's a very worthy purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my hammock I love my hammock. I am a big guy and I was a bit concerned about getting the single nest after using my wife's double nest. I am very pleased with this product and recommend it to anyone wanting a hammock. It sets up easy stores well and provides hours of relaxation. I use it when I backpack for a place to sit in camp, take naps during the day for a break and for holding all of my small items like jacket, hat, water bottle, and clothes when getting dressed. It keeps me from having to set them on the ground. I have taken it to the local park and strung it up in the woods by the water and read a book and took a nap several times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mt Tabor Bed and Breakfast - 1 Month Spent a summer in Portland, used the hammock as my home and bed for a month while working in the city. Was an experimental trip that worked out well. Would recommend this in tandem with a tent if you have one, but if you are going to a destination you know is reliably dry and has features for hanging, could do hammock alone. Great product. The double one is nice as well even for a single person. Put something a bit heavy into the stuff bag attached at the mid-section and you can throw it over the top as a bug/wind shield, and offers a bit more insulation at the cost of being a bit more stuffy inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than a hammock Ok, so I think I have already reviewed this product but I need to add more to it. Over the weekend in AZ I was on a pretty strenous hike with some friends. My buddy went into heat exahstion and we treated properly until we could get some help. There was not much shade where we were at and I almost didn't bring hammock. But I ended up using it to shade my friend to try and help cool him down and it worked beautifully. Greanted I had to get a little fancy with the set up to maximize shade, it was an awesome piece of gear for the situation. He when he was good enough to sit up we re adjusted and was sitting in it by the time the FD showed up. Great product ENO, thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ditch your tent I buy the best quality I can afford... which isn't much. So when I wanted to down-size & upgrade my camping tent, I looked at all the usual brands and stumbled across this while it was on sale. I was not really impressed with the rain fly, so I sewed my own out of rip-stop. I highly recommend getting the Guardian Bug Net and slap-straps to go with this hammock system. I've taken my single-nest on many 2-3 day trips and a few 2+ week wilderness kayaking trips, and it's practically brand new. - As long as you orient yourself diagonally in the hammock, you will lie flat. - Because you can set up the hammock well above ground, you don't get the cold 'ground effect' at night. - Because you aren't on the ground, you won't get flooded during heavy rains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hammock at home or in the woods I just got my Singlenest and so far it's an improvement over my last hammock. This is longer and wider, which makes it more comfortable for me to stretch out in. I have this hanging in my room functioning as my bed, and I'll be taking it backpacking as well. It's very well made and my only complaint is that the stitching where two colors come together is less stretchy than the rest of the fabric, you can feel this sometimes when you're laying in it, but these seams are as close to the edges as possible to minimize this effect. Also, hammocks can be cold if you don't have something underneath you. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase, it even came in a cool red/orange/yellow color combination!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, you should get this! My husband and I aren't the type of people to sleep in a hammock, but we are definitely the type of people to laze around the campsite reading, napping, and socializing. We love this hammock! It is sooo easy to set up, but don't forget to buy the straps that are sold separately! I am not the most mechanically minded or one to read instructions very carefully and I can set this up by myself. We received one for our wedding and after one camping trip we went and bought another. The one that wasn't in the hammock was jealous of the one it, so we had to have one more or a divorce. LOVE IT!

Can you give the approximate maximum and minimum distances between the two points from which the hammock may be suspended? Thank you. (50+ year member)

Asked by: JoinedIn1963
8 feet should be about the shortest distance between the ends of the hammock. When you hang it that distance apart you will have enough sag in the hammock for it to be comfortable when you lie in it at an angle, that is, with your feet on one side and your head and shoulders on the other side of the center line. When you lie diagonally like that you will feel as if you are lying flat and you might even fall asleep. The maximum distance between your hanging points will depend on the length of the straps that you use to hang the hammock. If you decide to hang from trees you should use a minimum 1 inch wide strap to wrap around each tree.

Would a single hammock be able to fit two people?

Asked by: gracesd6
The SingleNest is designed for 1 person and does not fit 2 people. If you want a hammock that can accommodate 2 people, ENO makes the DoubleNest Hammock.

I got this and it is too nest like for me to see out of it. Would the double be better at not closing up so tight? I would like to be able to see the sky and I don't have to worry about keeping out bugs or rain.

Asked by: JAA
The DoubleNest will more than likely be more of a nest than the SingleNest. If your mounting points are more spread out (tree for example), this could open the hammock more.

On website the Eno single nest hammock color described as "khaki/maroon" has a khaki body and maroon trim. However the Eno DOUBLE nest hammock with the same color description "khaki/maroon" has a maroon body and khaki trim - the reverse. Is this true?

Asked by: vbtcallie
ENO uses all fabric remnants in the production of their hammocks so the color combination of the hammock you receive may be inverted from our photo. We are unable to accommodate specific color combination requests.

So is this as simple as clipping to my straps? Is there any other set up involved? I'm not the most intuitive guy in the world.

Asked by: louie76
Yes, you will need to clip the hammock to your Atlas Straps once they are secured. There is also a how-to guide located on the ENO website.

I'm not a camper but I'm looking for something I can use in my back yard to swing in. I wondered if I sat across it instead of length whys would this work? Or does someone else have a better idea for me? I also thought this would kinda hide me as well?

Asked by: mouseluvr
It's not as rocky-swingy as the kind of hammock that has a built-in crossbar. But it's also easier to keep clean and it's super cheap.

I am 5'1 and 125 pounds, and I'm looking for a hammock to lounge in (and maybe sleep in). I was considering getting the Double for space and comfort, but I am worried that I will be drowning in hammock. Would the Single be enough for my needs?

Asked by: maddsuds
The SingleNest Hammock is a great choice for you and will meet your needs.

Are hanging straps included w/ this hammock?

Asked by: Chicago David
Your hammock will come with two 5/16'' carabineers on the ends that you can use to attach to whatever strapping or connecting device (ropes, webbing, ect.) for the objects you are using as your mounting points. The hammock will not come with strapping or a connecting device, so we recommend that you also purchase ENO strapping to compliment your purchase. Here are the different strapping options from ENO at REI:
