3 months of solid use
First off, the clamp is going to loosen up with use so ignore the other posts. When I first got it, the clamp was a nightmare. You felt like you could only open and close it by turning the knob as it wouldn't slide. I considered (like others) of returning this and buying the more expensive model. I'm glad I didn't. After looking at reviews for it, the same issues were being stated. After using this for 3 months, the clamp slides in and out just like they claim it does. It just takes a bunch of usage to loosen it up I think. I spent the summer working on a dozen to two dozen bicycles. Everything from children's bikes to 64lb electric bikes. This thing handles all of them like a charm. I love this stand and would highly recommend it.
bike stand
My wife bought this for me for Father's Day gift. I had been wanting a repair stand to do cleaning and maintenance on my bikes. I don't have space to leave something up all the time, but I didn't want something light and flimsy that would tip over with my bike. This has been great. Sets up and takes down easily and is very sturdy. Yes you can tip it over - but I would say you would actually have to try to tip it over. hold road or mountain bikes very good. Adjusts easily. I am very happy with this as a portable sturdy bike stand!!! Makes clening the bikes and chains much, much easier!!!! Wouldn't want to be without it.
Compact Bike Repair Stand
I am fairly new to cycling and thought I needed to be a Park Tool disciple, but this is certainly not the case. This Feedback Sports repair stand is just what I needed as a beginning cyclist who is beginning to perform more maintenance and repair tasks from my home. Not only is this stand light, but it's very compact-able, and maybe most of all, good looking. Folding it up is not a hassle and is quick. Just be mindful of the orientation of the legs of the stand as to not load a super heavy bike on it that could make it tip.
Useful, bit cumbersome/not compact
I needed a better way to clean my bike (than turning it upside down on my patio table). This stand did what I needed. It is easy to manipulate when needing the bike at different angles (I clap on my top tube as the seat post is not far enough away from the frame). It is very easy to clamp and lock into place. I bought this version b/c I wanted maximum stability. The 3 legs spread wide & are heavy enough to provide this. I do bring the stand with me when I go on long/multi-day bike trips w/ my car. But I have an Outback. It crosses the entire back from side to side, so it is not compact. While I mainly point out the shortcomings, it is more to help you understand. I do like this stand a lot, it does what I need and what I wanted.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Well made would be an understatement. This stand is over engineered and that’s fine by me. It's more than I need for home repair yet I’m so glad I paid a little more for such a well made product.
Truly Ultimate Repair Stand
I've used shop quality racks and those are pretty much bulletproof but this one is way sexier and easier to handle. It's a joy to put the bike up after a good ride to clean the crud off or when you have to do a little maintenance. It can be a little clumsy at times when you're holding your bike and trying to tighten the clamp... but it's not that big of a deal, you deal with the same thing in a shop clamp. You just have to make sure you have your bike balanced when it's on the rack, don't take the back wheel off when you have the bike in a level position, it'll tip forward -- other than those little watchouts, it's an awesome stand. I'm not sure what the more expensive one will give you. I thought this stand does what it needs to do and as a bonus, breaks down easily and travels well.
Excellent! Light and foldable too!
I got this on sale at 129. For the price and coming from being a bicycle repair mechanic this is excellent. Super light, super stable, and clamps work well if you know what your doing. I use it as a seatpost clamp for all bikes. The adjustable height is great and it holds overnight.
Worth upgrading over other stands
I did a ton of research into stands, comparing offerings across major brands. I decided on feedback sports’ basic stand, the black one, and was prepared to order from Amazon but needed something from REI. When I walked in I saw the ultralight was available and gave it a look, comparing against the less expensive but heavier basic option. I left the store with the ultralight and am glad I did. It is of higher quality and is easier to operate, with portability to boot. I’d initially tried building my own wooden and metal pipe repair stand solution, as I was cost-conscious and thought I could make it work but it was not as functional and weighed a ton. Very pleased with this stand. The tightening knob is metal instead of plastic and I can give it a flick and let its own weight spin it. Same with the clamp jaws, it’s easy enough to operate with one hand.
beat stand for gravel, road, & Mtb
don't get the Pro get the ultralight. save space and weight for portability. you don't need the extra height, less material = rigidity. and I get full tilt for bleeds. I’m a mechanical engineer and lifelong rider. get the tool tray also, cause its not junk and holds a beer or cocktail glass. don’t go cheapo and don't go ParkTool, this is what u need. Tweak the joint and clamp fittings and its solid.
Pretty sweet
I really like my bike stand. Way back in HS I used to repair bikes at a bike shop and this stand give the same advantages at the shop with about one twentieth the weight. The clap mechanism is not as quick as other bike stands I've used but it is pretty easy to figure out. I like now being able to do my own bike maintenance with pleasure because everything is at the proper height--and get this--in my apartment!
