Top of the line

This stand is huge, but in a great way. It held my 25lbs gravel bike without a wobble while I swapped pedals, installed a rear rack, and for cleaning. The magnetic strip on the arm isn’t huge, but is great for Allen wrenches. The best part of this stand is how adjustable the height is. I had the bike lower when installing the rack, but raised it up 8 inches when doing the pedals. Folds up to about the size of a collapsible camp chair and can be stowed in a closet. While there are definitely cheaper alternatives out there, if you can nab this stand on sale and do your own maintenance, it’s well worth the money.

Holds my e bike perfectly

This is an excellent stand for my e-bike. My bike weighs 57 pounds with the battery in, and this stand claims to hold up to 100 pounds. It is very sturdy and holds my bike well. I like all of the quick release latches and the speed grip that you just have to squeeze to tighten and then a few turns on the crank and your bike is held firmly in place. To release, just unscrew the crank a few turns and push the red button for a very quick release (make sure you're holding the bike). The magnets on the stand are very convenient for holding a few tools (not a crazy amount though) as seen in my picture. I have never liked turning a bike upside down to work on it and this solves that problem with ease. The stand is very durable but super light weight and would be easy to transport if you help a group of riders at the base of a trail. As for packability... I just wish it had either a bag with a strap, or just a strap to help carry it. A bag would be really nice because I love in an area with winter and I will just be storing it in the corner during that time. The base is very wide, and the head can pivot to accommodate if you need to move the way the bike is positioned or if you accidently set the legs up in your way. Overall though... I give it 5 stars for ease of use and durability. It was well thought out for being a basic bike repair stand.

Love the quick release

So I had a previous version of this stand and I will say this is an improvement. The Feedback Sports Pro Mechanic HD Repair Stand has good stable tripod legs and the head is easily adjustable. My favorite feature is the quick release button for the head. This allows you to quickly get the bike into and off of the stand. The only downside is the material of the quick release looks like it could be made of a more durable plastic than it is. It seems possible that could break if you are piling up the vehicle (which seems pretty common for cyclist). This stand is a little larger tubing that previous versions. It is still light enough and mobile, but I think they have another version that could be better suited for travel depending on how much room you have in your vehicle. You can position the bike at whatever angle is needed, the feet look like they wont scratch the floor if you are using it in an apartment etc...Overall really nice stand!!

A great repair stand for heavy bikes (ebikes!)

As the name implies, the Pro Mechanic HD is a heavy duty repair stand designed for the serious mechanic -- especially one who will regularly work on ebikes, cargo bikes, or other heavy bikes that require stronger support for major repair jobs. This stand has a wider tripod footprint than most competitors, stouter and thicker tubing, support gussets at crucial points, and a very strong clamping mechanism -- all of which create a very stable platform for even heavy bikes. The stand comes very cleverly packaged in all recyclable materials, and is easily removed and set up with no tools and no instructions required. The height is very adjustable and should accommodate mechanics from short to tall. The clamp is very clever and quick in operation (see video), and the angle is infinitely adjustable in a 360 degree arc; this makes it quick and easy to get a bike into the stand. There are a few very thoughtful touches, such as a strong magnet on the side of the clamp which will hold tools while they're not in use (see photo); there are also two options for safely resting a bike (by its saddle) on the stand without clamping it in, which provides for easy storage between rides. (See photo.) Finally, every single part is available separately from Feedback Sports in the unlikely event that anything ever breaks; this could be a "buy it for life" repair stand. The stand is not perfect, hence the deduction of one star. First, the clamp jaws are (as confirmed by the manufacturer) not intended for aero seatposts; I think will probably work adequately with most aero posts, but a slight design tweak would've make it more safe and secure. Also, the tubing is too thick to attach the manufacturer's tool tray; given that some other repair stands come with integrated tool trays nowadays, this seems a glaring omission in a stand designed for serious mechanics. In all, though, these are rather slight issues in an otherwise sturdy and stellar repair stand. If you have a heavier bike, or just want an extraordinarily high quality repair stand, this is highly recommended.

Poor quality control

This arrived with a damaged box. Upon opening the item and inspecting there are multiple scratches on various different parts (see photos). There were some unfinished metal burrs that stabbed my finger. On first unfolding and usage, the clamp mechanism swung down and slammed in to the red tube denting it. Very poor quality control and needs better design. I expected more from the top-of-the-line stand.

Great repair stand

A heavy duty repair stand for sure. The legs and column are super beefy and I'm confident this will hold full suspension mtb's and e-bikes without issue. Easy to use and feels solid holding my Surly Crosscheck and Salsa Timberjack. It is kind of heavy and not too small even folded up, so if you need to transport it to races and you only have a car with a rack then I might opt for the not so heavy duty version. Great for your home workshop and folds up nicely so it doesn't take up too much space even in a smaller apartment.

Excellent Repair stand

Positive: This bike repair stand is a beast! extremely solidly built with hardly any flex. I had no issues pivoting the bike to extreme angles with zero slipping. Very impressed! Highly recommended for those heavy eMTB. No assembly required and can easily be stored away. Just stretch and clamp. Negative: You are paying for that premium price. Doesn't come with any accessories, not even a carry bag for storage. Conclusion: This is one of those buy once cry once purchases. I'm confident this portable repair stand could easily last you a lifetime. I do wish it came with some accessories like a storage bag or tool caddy etc. This is a must have purchase if your bike weighs +45lbs - 100lbs.

Great Stand

This is perfect for my condo. It folds up to a small size & can tuck away in a closet. When opened, it supports my 50+ pound eMTB w/ plenty of stability. I’m really happy w/ this stand.

Used and dirty product received rather than new

REI shipped a used item when I paid full price for new. The box had been retapped and the cardboard shipping reinforcements were lying on the bottom of the box. The rubber feet on the legs were scuffed and dirty. The entire stand was covered with dust. The clamp mechanism had greasy fingerprints on it. I called to complain and they rushed shipped a new unit and arranged for ups to pick up the used unit. I will be without the stand for two work days. REI apologized and said they would work to correct the problem

STILL no tool tray!

It's been almost a year since Feedback released this stand, and they STILL haven't released a tool tray that is compatible with it. $500 for a bike stand that can hold a bike but can't hold tools. Silly.
