Absolutely FANTASTIC
Simply put, these things are fantastic. My climbing stepped up a level the first time I swung these. I could go on and on about these, they are just fantastic. Great feel, great swing. Very comfortable, they don't have any corrosion problems like I have run into with some other tools. The only other thing I can say about them is that they have no hammer, no adze. This is strictly an ice climbing tool. Not for mountaineering. This is not a shortcoming of the tool, its the way its designed. Just something to note.
My favorite tools
These tools are not for alpine use, They have no hammer or adze (though in a pinch, they will hammer pitons just fine), and they are bent shaft with no spike (okay, a pseudo-spike on the head) so are not good for low angle ice. On the steep stuff, they are amazing. Multiple grip positions, adjustable handle, great balance. I love climbing with these tools.
