Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable! I needed to replace my old sandals that finally fell apart after 20 years. I have always had a difficult time finding shoes that are comfortable and offer the correct arch support. Also, I need a wide toe box, but my heels are very narrow. I can feel every tiny pebble that I step on, so any shoe I wear has to have excellent padding. The Keen Newport H2 is the perfect replacement. They run small so I purchased a size 7 instead of my usual 6-1/2, but they fit well in both the toe box and heel. They have excellent arch support and padding. I couldn't be happier. I purchased them in the beet red color which is a nice change from my ugly brown sandals.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beware if you have a wide foot I did research on shoes before heading to the store. I thought this was going to be my everyday wear shoe. I was very sad to realize on vacation that the shoe was just too narrow for my wide foot. I stopped wearing them on the first day and returned them. It was a great shoe for travel. I dislike sneakers because my feet just get too hot. Sandels don't provide any support. I was really sad these shoes didn't work out. No other review I read on any website said anything about the width of the shoe. The shoe is very difficult to get on and off too. The sales associate said it would get easier with wear. By the way, this shoe has the widest toe box of the Keen's line up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THESE Everything about the H2's is great---except had quite a bit of trouble with finding right fit. I'm a 10.5 and that size gave me blisters, tried several different pairs --even men's 9.5--and finally found that size 11 W fit in one color (blue) and gave blisters in another (black). VERY STRANGE. Stitching/top strap placement was actually slightly different on the black pair and I was about to give up and then tried the same size 11 in blue and voila! No issues. They are great for hiking and for going in and out of water. Dry slowly but very comfortable once I found pair that didn't give blisters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love these sandals! I had read about these sandals on a cruise forum, where these shoes were recommended for a variety of terrains while on shore excursions. Reviews on other sites raved about these sandals as well. My husband and I each got a pair for our upcoming cruise, and we absolutely love them. They feel comfortable and broken in from the start. They do not chafe in any way. We reach for them all the time when we need a comfortable, versatile sandal. Besides being so comfortable, I've gotten many comments on how cute they are. When they go on sale again, I will buy more in different colors. I just can't say enough nice things about these sandals!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great multisport shoes This is my second pair of Keen's Newport. Purchased the original and took them to Thailand. They were great there, as my feet were very protected as i climbed over rocks and through lots of water. My only complaint was they were fairly clunky, but my feet were always protected. i decided to upgrade to the new Newport H2, and i am very satisfied. Lots of protection but lighter in weight. They do run a little wide, and i don't have narrow feet. Also i usually wear and 8.5, but sized up to 9 just to allow for swelling during activity. Other than being a bit wide for me, i definitely would recommend these to anyone needing sturdy shoes for hiking or water activities. They dry fairly quickly and are not uncomfortable using wet. Great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rubs in the wrong places. I bought these to use on a hiking/canoeing trip I'm taking later this summer and wanted to have some time to break them in. Unfortunately, the placement of the straps didn't work for my foot, and I ended up developing a blister on my left foot after walking only a few miles. I absolutely love the idea of Keens and was so disappointed. I ended up returning these to the store and exchanging them for the Keen Whisper sandal, which has a slightly different structure and strap placement. I love the Whisper sandals! My advice: if one Keen doesn't work for you, try another. They are all built so differently, and if you have a good fit they're so great and multi-purpose! I am recommending the product to others because I realize that the reason they didn't work for me is purely because of the way my feet are shaped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have on the Kalalau Trail! This is the perfect shoe you could ever have on your feet when doing the Kalalau Trail in Kauai. Or any hike that involves crossing streams for that matter. I had worn my Patagonia trail shoes the first 2 miles, but when having to cross the stream at Hanakapi'ai (Mile 2), I changed into these and I didn't need to change back into my hiking shoes. I felt safe ascending and descending on the many different terrains that Kalalau has to offer. Even after our hike, these are just really comfortable to go walk around the town in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance and comfortable! I've used these shoes from urban walks to advanced, steep, and muddy hiking in Kauai, Hawaii. In every situation they perform excellent. People even asked me and my spouse, who wears same type, about the shoes because they could see us through mud, rivers, rocks, uphill, downhill with no worries. And after 4-5 hours of hike we barely got any blisters. They are comfortable, they fit tight (which is a big plus), and have good grip. The only thing I don't like as much is that they are not a fast dry and can be hard to put them on.

Are these sandals true ti size? I´m a size 9 and I´m planning on getting these for long walks on the beach, also, which sandal would you recommend mos? The newport or whisper? Thanks!!

Asked by: anapaodn
These shoes do run true to size, so a size 9 is the best choice for you. The Newports are a little more versatile than the Whisper, so customers who prefer a versatile sandal for activities like hiking tend to prefer the Newports, but either sandal is a great choice.

Would these sandals be good for long hikes where I would be crossing many streams and rivers? I just hate having to switch from my hiking boots/shoes to these sandals and back again. I am looking for sandals that would be perfect for hiking through water.

Asked by: kaysedilla
The Keen Newports would be great sandals for any activity that involves walking in and out of water. They aren't damaged by water and dry quickly when compared to leather boots. The soles and toe will give you great protection against rocks and rough trails. The Newports won’t protect your feet from sand, dirt and thorny vegetation like a boot will. They also don’t offer any ankle support and not quite as much foot support as a boot. If those features aren’t important for your hikes, the Newports are a good choice.

Why does this shoe only come in 3 colors? Are there more color options but just not at REI?

Asked by: adventureclubpdx
These are the colors we have available currently.
