Big Trip to Canada, held up well

I had one pair of size 16 ski boots, a snow board and 11.5 snowboard boots in this, then we put a pair of 180 skis and a snowboard and poles in it. All good.Tip, load it with your skis and snowboards, and put your boots in another bag, the airline will probably only charge you $25 for one bag, the boot bag goes free! We stuffed clothes in with the ski/snowboard for padding. WIth a soft side bag United busted my snowboard last year (thankfully on the way home). The Sportube offers great protection and with the wheels and clip on handle, moving stuff around is easy!

The locking pin/system doesn't work well as the sleeves don't align. TSA is required to inspect the box and they usually can't get it back together. I talked to them and they said they always struggle with these. 50/50 you retrieve it in two pieces on the other side.

Cracked after 2 trips

Really disappointed with this purchase. The case cracked after taking it on two trips. Contacted Sporttube about their warranty and the damage, but they never responded.

Bad bad

Bought for a short trip home. It was literally a one hour flight with no layovers and delta managed to bang it up so bad with a huge dent on either side damaging the contents. Along with being a menace to pack due to the design this product does not work.

Great travel case

My girlfriend and I can't imagine flying our snowboards without this case. It's completely durable- never had any kind of damage to its cargo. Why check your snowboards in a soft case?! My case has received some dings but better that then the boards. Your gear is worth this protection. I can fit two snowboards, both of our boots AND my Cabella's boot dryer in there. Granted, it gets heavy but it JUST squeaks by the weight limit. I definitely use the TSA lock: durable and they can access it safely if need be instead of using the pin the case comes with. My only complaint is that I load it so heavy that it is hard to pull. Living in the city makes it tricky to get to the airport using mass transit. I'm thinking of adding some removable casters to the front!

hardshell protection, difficult to close and lock

Strong hardshell, no liner inside and just basic foam on ends The plastic comes slightly warped and the locking holes don’t line up. Takes a bit of pressing to force holes to line up, taking about 5–10 minutes longer than usual to place locking pin. Very annoying and not immediately apparent when buying Wheels are great and handles are built well though the two top handles make it taller and can prevent easy loading to tight spaces. The wheels and front pull handle are excellent though

Solid, but faulty design

It is hardy case. Has very little padding. Unlike the video, it was difficult to fit in poles within the skis. We had to keep poles outside of the skis, but luckily the box is big enough. The design issue is they provide just one hole through which the pin holds the top and bottom together. That pin becomes load bearing and single point of failure. Further it is not secure i.e., unlocked. We tried using a TSA compliant cable lock. But it could not hold the load and broke off on one flight. Luckily, none of the stuff was lost, stolen or broken. So we went back to the pin they supplied. Very worried how it will hold up with international flights and multiple connections.

Good product, even though it's pricey.

Went to Utah for skiing/snowboard with family in January. Needed case for 1 pair of skis and 2 snowboards. Bought the double tube for skis and the snowboard case(couldn't decide), since my son had a soft snowboard case already. Was able to pack skis, 1 snowboard without the binding attached and pair of snowboard boots. Could of also packed the second snowboard without bindings (room available). But son decided to use his soft snowboard case. The price for the double tube for skis was the same as for the snowboard case. Returned the double tube case for skis and decided to keep the snowboard case since it had more carrying capacity for the same price. Better value for the same price. Had concerns for the supplied wire lock(reliability and was it strong enough), so I bought a TSA lock from discount retailer. Made my own T-strap(Easy-Pull handle)from climbing rope for less then manufacture price, to use for pulling the case along in the airport. Again, over priced T-handle(Easy-Pull handle)accessory from manufacturer.

Great for flying with archery gear!

I compete in the sport of archery on horseback, and needed a container for flying commercially that would hold bows, arrows, boots and other gear without risk of breakage. The Sportube Series 3 was just the ticket.

Over the airline weight limit w/two pairs of skis

Decent product, but after one trip two corners are already collapsed in. We packed two sets of skis/poles, and some clothes, and it was 54 lbs, so already over the airline weight limit with only two sets of skis. Had to pull stuff out to get it under 50lbs and not be charged $100. No way three sets will be under that limit. And barely fits in the back of my SUV when packed/extended. Wish I wold have bought a soft case.
