  • Gentle to delicate skin, this soap can be used for shaving, as shampoo, dental mouthwash, or skin bath

Made in USA.

Leave No Trace: Even biodegradable soaps and cleansers shouldn't be used in a natural water source. To wash yourself, your laundry or your dishes, carry water 200 feet away from streams or lakes and use small amounts of biodegradable soap (a little goes a long way). Then pour wastewater into a cat hole 6 to 8 inches deep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use For Everything I love Dr. Bronner's! It's a natural, castile-based, soap that can be used for just about anything. I use it to wash my hands, but also to shampoo my hair (castile acts as a natural conditioner), and wash grease off the dishes. A little bit goes a long way. The best thing to do is buy yourself a little plastic dispensing bottle and add a quarter--or less--soap to the bottle and fill the rest up with lukewarm water. This way, you'll use less (the bottled soap is concentrated, so you need to water down for most uses!), and get more for your money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle enough to clean dried blood from silk Never thought I'd find myself leaving a review on soap... I had a brand new (pure white) silk sleeping bag liner out on its maiden camping trip last weekend. It was dark when I was pulling it out of its stuff sack, and I didn't notice that I had a small cut on one of my finger tips at the time... The next morning the liner just about looked like it had been used to clean up a murder scene. Anyway, I didn't get around to cleaning it for a few days, so the blood was pretty well dried on. I put a few squirts of this stuff in a couple gallons of water, gently hand washed the liner for a minute or two, and it came out looking good as new, no splotches at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The stuff is concentrated! Echoing the guy with minty fresh feeling... Learned long ago, the diluting a bit is necessary for sensitive parts. So that they don't feel as they are about to ignite. The girl with the one star also failed to dilute likely... Bathing while Camping? Take your 'wash water' in a small basin - camp pot or such - mix in a small amount in to a small amount of water. Say a few small squirts per 1/2 gallon - Wash with it... (I just jamb a towel in it and use the towel, or something I also want washed.) Wring out towel - Then rinse thoroughly with damp towel x2~3x.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sudsy, biodegradable, unscented, all purpose soap I bought this on the suggestion of an REI employee who said that was what he used. I just came back from a 2 night camping trip, and I liked it. I used it to wash my hands and face (campsite had running water and sinks:), hand wash socks and small items. It didn't do as good a job as say, putting them in the washing machine at home, but it did make things fresher. The fact that it was biodegradable was even better:). I will continue using product on camping trips and even at home in liquid soap dispensers.... (I might get a scented version for home:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best I have found When I'm out and I know that I will me washing myself up I will only bring this soap!! I have used the peppermint version out in the field and being a guy the peppermint gave me a whole new meaning to the phrase "minty fresh feeling" if you get my meaning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paint stripper masquerading as soap!! The REI sales rep told me this was a great multi purpose soap so I was sold. After one use my skin was so dry & tight that I had to use 2-3 times more moisturizer. But my waist length blond hair may not recover - it stripped it of shine and now has the texture of straw. No deep conditioning treatment can restore my glorious locks. Beyond disappointed - headed back to REI for a refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A no brainer I've used Dr. Bonner's Peppermint soap for years. The idea of purchasing the unscented version was a no brainer. Not only does it give you a great clean, it even has some medicinal uses. My only question is why I didn't think to get this sooner.
