These poles are so well built! Got them on sale but worth the price for how well they packed into my carry on backpack and stood up in NZ. This was a light weight splurge and huge upgrade from my previous black diamond poles that made me realize the right size and gendered poles are really created for a reason, so why didn’t I switch sooner. :)
Easy to adjust and can be used for hiking and snowshoeing
Love these poles. First, I want to say, don't be intimidated about assembly/adjusting these poles...SUPER easy! And this is my first trekking poles of this type. a) Just beneath the handle is the locking mechanism for adjusting the top part for height. Lever pulls outward to adjust or fold for storage, etc. b) The 'joint'-looking mechanism next section below that is the quick release, simply squeeze the vertical lever...DO NOT TRY TO PRY open or upward! c) snap VETICALLY the bottom two sections (after simply lining those two up) with the top stationary section. Easy Peezy, trust me. Also, the plastic cap protecting came right off with hardly any resistance. d) To adjust the straps: simply firmly snap the strap UPWARD, that will open the lever and allow adjusting, as needed. The poles are super light, as advertised. Handle comfortable. Foam grip is made of a very dense material, not squishy, seems like they'll last, also pretty convincing looking. I have not tried changing out baskets yet...will be getting snow baskets and update review IF possible. So, I'm 5'4" and these poles offer plenty of room for adjustment. Since this is my first carbon pole, I'm a little concerned about overall 'ruggedness' to be truthful; we'll see! 4* instead of 5* bc of their 'weakest-link': the PLACTIC tension screw! WHY o' WHY plastic?! Again, time will tell. Hope this helps someone!
