I purchased 4 of these jackets for my petite kiddos ages 2, 4, 6, 8 as an outer layer for hiking and outdoor play in the PNW. The size guide says that these run large, but I listened to the other reviewers and sized up a size because I'm hoping they'll last a full year- this winter through summer camping. I think ordering their true size based on measurements would have fit them at this exact moment, but would not be as 'roomy' as the company suggests (and my kids are on the smaller size for their respective ages, so the size chart suggested going down a size). We have yet to test them in extreme conditions but I wanted to comment on sizing for anyone purchasing this winter.
Perfect for fall and wet conditions!
These are great pants and so far seem to be very durable and high quality. My toddler is in outdoor preschool so they get a lot of wear in wet conditions. They have proved to be waterproof. Sometimes they are completely soaked but the inside is still fairly dry. I'm satisfied! The only issue I experienced with this particular item is the sizing seems to be off. My son is 4 years old and I usually order that size in this brand due to Reima's extra sizing for growth. That was not the case for this jacket. I had to go up 2 sizes to a 6 y/o and I'm doubtful he will be able to wear it another season.
Super nice jacket!
The material is really nice and seems to be high quality. It fits really well on my 3 year old and he loves it. It’s very comfortable. I didn’t realize when I bought it that it doesn’t have pockets for your hands but it’s not a big deal. There is one zipper breast pocket. The main zipper is easy for my 3 year old to operate himself. They are normal zippers, not waterproof zippers. The color is a really nice rich blue. We are very happy with the jacket!
Stylish and slim fitting. Not great for layers
Really liked the feel of this jacket. Soft, slightly stretchy and slim fitting. However we didn't keep it as I felt like it ran small or perhaps true to size and wouldn't be easy for my preschooler to get on/off independently while wearing layers at his outdoor school. Would be a great spring coat with 1 shirt underneath but this coat was a recipe for 'my sweater sleeves are bunched up' tantrums in our young child.
Wonderful jacket!
This jacket is just perfect. I’m buying this jacket for a friends’ child. My son already has one and I’m about to buy one more in other colour. It’s very high quality and very durable. The old one my 7-years son has it’s almost as new. I would strongly recommend this jacket for autumn, lighter winters and spring time. My kiddo loves it and wears it all the time! Thank you Reima!
Love it! Runs small.
My six (almost seven) year old wore this jacket for a cold winter sail on our family’s catamaran and we plan for it to be his rain jacket. However, the size 8-9 fits very snugly and I wish I had ordered an even larger size so he won’t be growing out of it so soon. I would recommend sizing up! I love everything about the quality of this amazing jacket.

I was looking for a light softshell because my son won’t keep his heavy coat on while he’s outside, so thought something lighter and more breathable would work, and this coat did the trick. He has no problem putting it on and keeping it on. And it looks and feels very high quality.
Favorite cool weather jacket
Favorite cool weather jacket - comfortable, warm enough, water resistant enough for the wet sprinkles we get all day. Especially love the zipper that’s easy for little hands to use themselves. Some jackets the zipper always gets caught. Never on this one! Great fit, we are on year two of wearing the same jacket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love everything about this jacket! We ordered the green jacket in 6y for our 4.5 year old who currently wears size 4/5 (xs) boys tops. Its roomy enough for him to wear a thick sweatshirt under it and should fit him next fall as well. If they made this coat in adult sizes we would order one for my husband as well.

Intentionally we bought a bright color, which comes with the added challenge of stain management for an active kiddo outside in forest school; which we anticipated but I do wish it was easier.
