Perfect water hiking shoe

Bought these to hike the 20 miles confluence hike from Havasupai with 20 river crossings. They were the perfect water hiking shoe. I wore thin smartwool socks with them. No blisters, no raw spots, great traction and my feet weren’t even sore after that distance. I wear 7.5 and prefer a wide shoe. The 7.5 was perfect size for me.

Comfy but fall apart fast

I love the way these shoes look and feel and I would be a repeat customer, but the shoes just don't last at all...I've owned two pairs and both pairs developed gaping holes where the mesh toe box material joins the more rigid lacing area. Two holes on each side of the shoe...both shoes...this seems like a serious design flaw. I hate it when something prematurely falls apart. Terrible for the wallet but more importantly, terrible for the environment! I can't believe I haven't seen other reviews state this problem either. I know it isn't just me experiencing this. Makes me wonder if companies delete their bad reviews?

Have loved these from the minute I tried them on!

I just received my second pair of these terrific shoes and already love them. After years of struggling on and off with plantar fasciitis, I opted for this low profile shoe with lots of toe room and flex, but still plenty of structure for long runs on roads or trails. The shoes snugly hold my feet in their natural shape, allowing plenty of movement, not forcing them around or into a more rigid form. The mesh is great for wet NC summers but also just fine for winter runs with good socks, even on snowy mountain trails. Another important feature for me is the lack of ornamental stitching across the toe area, allowing my toes maximum range of natural movement. These are excellent shoes.

Grand Canyon approved

I bought these shoes specifically for a 16 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon, knowing I'd be hiking and getting in and out of rafts. Well, I wasn't disappointed! I found them stable enough to climb elevations quickly, sturdy enough to traverse over slippery surfaces and durable enough that they didn't fall apart. They dried quickly, even after being submerged, which is a plus when you're making camp every night and packing up in the morning. I'd highly recommend them! I also like these over my Keen's because I wasn't getting small rocks under my feet.I got them on a pro deal to boot!

6 months later and need new shoes...

I am not rough on my shoes by any means, yet my shoes have holes in them now. I havent put the amount of miles that is implied by the picture. I do normal everyday walking around. The soles of my shoes look amazing and are no where near being ready to throw out. I would like to say it's a fluke but my daughters shoes started getting holes on them before mine. She wears hers even less than I wear mine, granted she can be tougher on things than me. I actually lectured her on treating her shoes right when hers started getting holes on the top. I loved the shoes up until mine started ripping. Ugh.

Pretty, light weight, but extremely poor quality

I was so in love with these shoes but within 1-1/2 months the navy color material was peeling off the toe box area, which has just got progressively worse. They look terrible and look like I have white paint on my shoes. Within a month I could also feel the material in the heel area crunching like newspaper despite always putting them on correctly. Now within 5 months the inside area of the toe box is coming apart inside the shoes. I just wear these to work in a library, Im not even hiking in them. They are the most poorly constructed shoes I have ever purchased, I cant believe it at this cost.

Do your Research, youll get these!

When my last pair of water shoes collapsed under too much fun I decided I needed something better. After considerable research with the usual suspects aka Tevas, Keens, etc., I found Astral shoes and ordered this particular one TR1 Mesh Ws and couldnt be more pleased. Because we fish in and out of our kayaks, rocks, shells and muck are commonplace. These shoes are great. Lightweight, durable, drainage-wise they kick butt without all the rocks and silt you would get from others. We are white water rafting this coming spring and these are the shoes I will be packing for both water and hiking components on the trip no more 2 or 3 pairs and the weight to go along with them! Pleased they are eco-friendly as well.

Astral Tri Mesh women shoes

I purchased these for a white water rafting trip (6 day guided) in the Grand Canyon and they worked really well as far as grip, water shoes. I recently went back east to Washington DC and Pennsylvania and decided to take these shoes. Wow, I was blown away. I walked miles in these shoes in total comfort and the grip that the soles have were a godsend. These are now my go to shoes for any trip where I will be walking a lot and need shoes that are comfy and don't slip. These are amazing. Usually I have to break shoes in and get blisters, but not with these shoes. I encountered a situation where fellow travelers were slipping on slick conditions and these shoes prevented me totally from slipping. I am 100% blown away by these shoes and will take them everywhere I go.

Such a disappointment - heel is WAY too high - NO comparison to Junctions

I used to ONLY wear Astral. I have gone through many a pair of Astral and always believed I should be a spokesman because I got so many people hooked on these shoes. The Astral TR1 Junctions were the best shoes ever made. Such good reviews on review sites also. Not sure what's going on with Astral as their products and selections are far below what they used to be. I am returning these shoes. I wore my Junctions out of the box for several hundred miles without ONE problem. These hurt just to walk in my hallway. So sad!
