Sizing is spot on for me. I normally wear a size 10 and that's what I got. I also like a roomy toe box and these also fit the bill. They are comfortable out of the box. I wore these shoes down some washed out muddy local trails after a hard rain, on a mixture of concrete and dirt. These shoes were great. There was a shallow water crossing that had grown over moss and slippery plant stuff. My other shoes made it feel like I was walking on a skating rink.
This is my 2nd pair with the first one lasting 4 years. The only thing that failed is the mesh top otherwise the sole and the rest of the shoe has remained in good condition. Too bad this shoe design is being discontinued. It is attractive enough to use in city streets but works well as a hiking shoe. It dries quickly too and it keeps odors in check.
I bought these shoes recently, and I backpacked for two days, hiking roughly 22 miles. The first day it rained and it turned out a large portion of the trail was quite rugged. By the end the shoes had definitely taken a beating, the toe tip had started to peel. Given that they are such a lightweight and flexible shoe which I like, I’m not surprised, so I would not recommend these shoes for any rugged terrain they’re also not especially comfortable in very rugged terrain. 1 through 5 I would rate these shoes for durability at about 2. However, to give em credit the shoe have held up, I give the these shoes 4 stars because they’re an overall good shoe for both indoor/outdoors, good for day hikes, their great for flat/paved trails, their lightweight, flexible, breathable, durable tread, surprisingly water resistant, and comfortable for walking. They’re currently my daily.
