HOW TO MEASURE:
Neck: Around the fullest part of the neck, at the base.
Chest: Around the chest, just under the arms and across the shoulder blades.
Sleeve: From the center back of the neck, across the shoulder, and down the arm to the wrist.
Waist: Around the narrowest part of the waist.
Hip: Around the widest point of the hips.
Inseam: From the crotch to the anklebone on the inside of the leg.

I was looking for something close to Arcteryx Trino SL tights, which are no longer made. A lightweight windproof slim fitting hiking pant. And hoping made in some color besides black. I wore these today in 45 degree Oregon Spring weather (full cloud cover and windy), over a pair of lightweight merino tights. They definitely kept the wind out. The wide elastic waist band is super comfortable, although it does make it difficult if you want to tuck in a shirt so you can access the front pockets. Wasn’t worth the effort for me. Unlike the Trino these are only 1 layer, so I wouldn’t expect great water resistance if you are hiking through drizzle, but with the slim fit putting on rain pants would be simple. I bought the Small and they fit well with room for a light base-layer. I’m between a 4-6 in pants and usually buy size 6 to have plenty of give for rock scrambling, base-layers, etc. I give these 4 stars primarily for the pockets, which are on the small side (won’t hold most newer cellphones) and no zippers to secure contents except for the thigh pocket which might hold a small wallet. For me this makes the pockets almost useless.

Best Hiking Pants Ever!

Been wearing Alpine Light Pants for every hike I’ve been on the last few months. It’s the best technical pants I’ve ever owned and I’d recommend it to everyone to get at least one in the closet for use. Black diamond crushed it with these pants. It’s held up to falls, rock abrasions, thorns, sharp leaves, you name it and the pants have been rock solid. Some how this magical pair of pants is warm when it’s cold and windy, cool when it’s hot and muggy. It’s perfect for pretty much all conditions. Biggest worry was that the pants would be too long BUT they have a drawstring that locks into the perfect length for your legs! The pants are super comfy and stretch but also also aren’t super annoying with the crinkly sound. Black diamond thought of everything with these pants and I’d highly recommend them!!

Love these pants for hiking and climbing. I initially felt the fit is a bit long and loose for me. However, once I got it on the trail, I completely changed my mind. These pants are awesome. I love the pockets, comfortable elastic waist band, and curry brown color. I used the CordLock adjustable hems to, well, adjust the hem which stayed in place the entire hike. I felt I had excellent range of motion. Thank you Black Diamond for designing a great pair of pants.

So appreciate the small size offering...So hard to find. I knew that the pant would be comfortable but it looks stylish enough to wear off trail. I am looking forward to traveling with this pant on a hiking vaca in Europe. Fits TTS, though at 5"4" I had to hem (108# size XXS). Note, a belt is describe in the specs, though there is not an integrated belt in the pant. The waistband is non-adjustable, but comfortable at about 4" wide.

These are very comfortable, very nice pants, but I do wish the waist was a little bit more stretchy as far as getting over hips and to sit more comfortably on the waist.
