[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Convincing the hubby to use sunscreen is a very common argument in my household so I was very happy when he agreed to try this Columbia SPF protection shirt while doing yard work 🤣 It's definitely not the cutest but anything to keep him from turning into a lobster 🦞 I'm really trying to stay on top of using spf consistently this summer but the Japanese formulas I favor are getting so expensive and if tarrifs bump them up further I will have to go for a cheaper alternative or start wearing long sleeves like this. I was surprised my hubby liked this so much, apparently it actually does breath well enough to wear in hot weather during heavy yardwork so it'd also be great for hiking.

My husband tried out the Columbia Skien Valley Long Sleeve Shirt while fishing, and it was a great layer for the day. The fabric is lightweight, breathable, and has a little stretch, so it moved with him easily while he was casting and reeling. It kept him cool under the sun but still gave enough coverage to keep the wind off. These things are important when you live in a place like Oregon where the weathers swings pretty hard. The hidden zipper pocket on the chest came in handy for storing his fishing license without worrying about it falling out. He loved the snaps instead of buttons, and the insect shield and sun protection were great. It’s the kind of shirt that works perfectly on the water but still looks good enough to wear out after. His only critique is that the shirt runs small. He wears an XXL in everything and this is ever so slightly snug and a little short, but still works. This item was gifted by Columbia for my honest review.
