As a heavy set woman who is a light sleeper this thing is awesome for camping! If you asked my husband he would describe me as the princess who can feel the pea under a 100 mattresses! Unless that matress is this one! I used this on a 4 day backpacking trip and dont regret the extra weight it takes up. The first night it was a bit firm so the second night I ended up letting a little air out and man that was the sweet spot. It held air perfectly and never got cold. It felt solid and I wasn't sliding off of it in the middle of the night or making a bunch of noise everytime I turned over. I didnt feel any pressure points and I never felt my body sag down enough to touch the ground through the pad. The self inflating hasn't really popped up very fast but that might change with more long term use. I appreciate the storage bag being easy to use and side opening. I also love the print since purple is my favorite color. The trade off is the weight of course. It's not heavy to me but it's not an ultralightweight option. Personally sleep is my most important concern when camping or backpacking. If I dont sleep well I dont have as much energy and if you are on a days long trip that really starts to matter. I can definitely carry the extra weight and go the distance if it means I sleep like a baby in luxury each night!
