Great for car camping!
I purchased the long wide double version of this sleeping pad and it was incredibly comfortable! Lowest temperature I experienced on our trip was 35*F, so still above freezing, but we were warm. It did not seem to deflate at all overnight either. Definitely not ultralight gear but it suited our needs perfectly.
No buyers remorse
I wanted a comfortable sleeping pad for car camping. Heard great things about the duo so I went to REI to test it out and fell in love with the cushion and softness of the touch. REI didn't carry the lux in store so I wasn't able to try it out before buying. Figured I'd get lux as it has a cover, which means easier to maintain cause you can wash the cover. No buyers remorse! The lux cover is pretty soft and it feels nice to the touch. It came with a hand pump, but saw someone posted it was worth buying the portable electric pump. Totally great advice. Hands down the electric pump was the way to go. Not so much for airing up cause it does a pretty good job of self inflating, but for decompressing, the electric pump gets you to factory deflate. Nice and compact. I took a nap on the pad and it was comfy. The cushion makes a world of a difference compared to just sleeping on an air mattress. I also lent it to a friend cause he had some guests visiting. They weren't campers so it blew their mind when they slept on it thinking it was just an air mattress. They slept great and gave lots of compliments.
Comfy with some quirks.
The wool layer and quilted cover are worth the extra cost, super comfortable. Ended up returning for the auto version as it was a bit too wide for our ID.BUZZ. Knocking a star off due to difficulty deflating and getting it back in the bag, 2 adults could't accomplish it easily.
