It’s very thin and I don’t think it has silk in it. The stitches were bad. I don’t know how sea to summit sell this low quality product to customers.
I use this with a Rab Neutrino 400 and it works really well to cut the cold feel nylon has. I'm not sure if it adds much warmth or just the perception of it. I am 5'7" 135lb female and I bought the long. I do, however, wish I had bought the one with the top/pillow section to protect the interior of my sleeping bag hood. I have not tried the 100% silk version, but I find pure silk can get sticky in humidity and the cotton gives it a soft hand feel. I have not had any issues with wear and it seems surprising durable. It is a bag, of course, so can be a bit restricting and get twisted. Most of the time it just ends up down around my chest where I pull it over my shoulder if I get chilly. I probably have had more than 50 nights using this in both arid and humid conditions.
The material tears easily. The tears were so extensive that the liner was impossible to repair. Definitely not worth the money.
I'll start by saying I have never used one of these before, so I have no basis for comparison. I needed one for a multiday hiking trip and sleeping in a Refugio. Weight was the deciding factor as we carried all of our gear on the multiday trip. This was lightweight, easily stored a zip pouch, and not difficult for me to get in and out of although someone larger might feel constricted and opt to go with a different design.
