After a few training hikes with the big Agnes prospect getting the suspension adjusted I started to really like this pack. Then we did a short section of the NCT and for sure this pack is a winner. My go to pack has been a Gregory baltoro, the prospect weighs a full 3 pound less and fit my 5’10’’ frame better the shoulder straps are not as comfortable as the gregory but it’s not a dealbreaker. The water bottle pockets are much bigger as are the hip belt pockets with easier to use zippers. For the price this pack carries well is quiet and comfortable. I do recommend it.
Y’all are really missing out on an amazing bag. I really am a big fan of big Agnes especially after being in steam boat for so long. But I will say this bag is meeting every expectation I had for it. I can fit everything I need in it and then some. I’m no expert hike in camper at all but I can get what I need to where I want to go comfortably and safely. As of right now I can fit my tent, sleeping bag, bed roll, clothes, and extras all in the bag with my hatchet and pick axe on the outside as well. This thing is awesome. This may be my pack for life.
Huge bargain. You have to get used to no “brain” compartment, but this makes me a fan of roll-tops. It has nice details like three back/side cinch straps and two daisy-chain gear loops on the back, which let you strap on what would have towered over the top. I didn’t have any trouble cinching the belt across my 34” waist. My go-to pack now.
I bought one of these, when Big Agnes had them on sale. I like the pack, however, the shoulder straps are hard as a rock! Very uncomfortable. I have tried to loosen them up and soften them up. But still very firm. I am using this as a bag for holding my gear in the RZR now, so I won't have to carry it. I like the design, and quality. It just hurts.
I like the style and pockets on the pack. The padding on the shoulder straps seems a bit harder than most. The real shame was that I could not cinch the hip belt tight enough due to the style. I have a 33-34” waist. The fit through the torso was good.
