This comfortable shoe is perfect for light hiking - with the caveat that I substituted a more supportive insole (which I find I have to do with most shoes). With the original insole the shoe almost feels like a slipper and offers no arch support. With the supportive insole I was very happy with this shoe on a variety of nontechnical trails. Their light weight made them a perfect travel shoe, both worn on long flights and easily packed in check-in luggage.
Ok if you are not looking for ultimate support & security in footbed while hiking and scrambling on challenging terrain! Heel slips out while walking, footbed lacks supportive feeling. Would work for around town, would not rely on for sketchy or risk taking fun adventures.
Wore them hiking a couple days ago, they did great, excellent grip for climbing up boulders, quite stable. The blue color is too vivid (I was in the market for a dark purple shoe) but they will scuff up nicely to tone it down some. Love the shoe laces, which my old Asolos had and are easy to tighten. Runs a teensy bit tight in the width, but no blisters.
