Poor quality.
I love these pants!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a female, 5'9", 135lbs. I always get mens pants because they seem to fit me better. At first I got the medium long because I thought that I would wear a pair of sweats underneath but when they came in they were a bit too large around my waist & too long so I returned them & got a small tall - which worked out a lot better. I could wear sweats underneath & still have it fit nicely. My waist is super small so I could've even gotten an xs long but I like have at least some room incase I wanted to wear something underneath, or if I put on a few pounds! I loved the look of them & feel super cute when wearing it. Material is great!!!
I own these pants in many colors!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a 5'8" 140 lb. woman and have worn North Face winter outdoor pants for several years. I prefer the men's fit because they are longer and more comfortable than the women's. I alpine and telemark ski an average of 80 days a season and these pants in general are warm and durable. The newest iteration of these pants (as compared to previous pants) have the same pockets, shorter vent zippers and have only one snap at the fly. The material of these new pants is more "shiny" than of the old pants. Most everything else is the same as previous versions. I deducted one star for the shortened vent zippers and for the one snap vs. 2.
Ski Pants Matter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a ski instructor, pants matter. I've enjoyed the quality from The North Face for years with my previous pants. These are also very good. I kind of liked the material from the old pants better and the old pants had a leash in the pocket for my keys (this pair does not), but the fit is excellent and I can tell they're going to last a long time. They're very insulated, so I just have a baselayer on under them. In the spring, I'll do with even less than that. The color is great and they're comfortable. And I did end up getting two pairs. The first pair I somehow ordered the short length, so I quickly ordered the regular length since I'm 5' 11" tall. In the end, I'm keeping both because the short length wasn't too short. It was fine. I attached a picture of the difference between the two.
So far so good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pants look great and have plenty of insulation, took them out skiing a few times and they are great so far. I am very disappointed with the sizing. I am 5'8"n 165lbs and i have always worn a size 30/30 pant, i ordered a medium and they were huge on me. The waist was a nice fit, a little roomy, but the length was for someone six inches taller and they were so baggy I could have used them to parachute out of an airplane. I sent them back and ordered a small, never in my lift have i fit into a small, but i do with north face. Waist is tight but i am out of shape - something i can change. Overall i would say read the sizing chart very carefully and have a tape measure for yourself ready.
Super comfy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don't normally write reviews. Had a hard time finding new ski/snowboard pants after the pair I had for like 15 years finally but the dust. I didn't want to like these cause I don't normally wear much north face and they don't have a back pocket... I thought I couldn't handle not having a back pocket... but these pants were so comfortable I'm totally over it. Got home from the mountain and wore these around the house for the rest of the day. Super comfy. I'm sold. I just hope they last as long as my old pants (the thread in the pocket did already rip a little, but willing to let it slide cause it was only a little bit, I can see it up if it pulls more, and did I mention there super comfy!)
Baggy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these mainly for winter hiking. I was hoping for more of a slimmer fit. These are pretty baggy from the thigh down, which would be great if I was skiing or snowboarding. The baggier fit makes it great for movement and makes it easy to fit the legs over ski boots. But when I'm hiking with these on, it just feels cumbersome. I All I hear is the swishing of pant legs rubbing together. I wish TNF would cater more to the hiking community. So many of their products are geared toward the winter and extreme sports crowd. Not everyone is tearing up the slopes or hanging from granite rock ledges.
I would recommend based on the quality for the price
I haven't put them to the test just yet, I bought them for my family snowboard trip to Utah in February '25. After trying them on I feel they will be just fine, plenty of room to move without being too bulky and pretty lightweight for being insulated. I agree with another buyer though, the pockets could be bigger or at least more of them. I can't give them a five because of the fact that I haven't been on the mountain with them yet. And I do love my pockets, but I bought these for lightweight warmth and I feel like they should live up to that. Oh one last thing, I shopped around and these were the best price wise compared to other top brands in this category of waterproof/insulated ski/board pants.
Comfortable, warm and cozy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, I picked this up during Black Friday deals and I'm in Tahoe right now. This was definitely worth it. Wore it while shredding and held up great. I'd recommend this for your next shredding session. Highs 40 degrees and low 20s in the night. Kept me completely warm and cozy. Not overly hot.
A staple for snowboarding!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought these for my husband, who is 6'2 and 180lbs. The Tall size M fit perfectly! Easy movement for snowboarding. Warm, repels water, lots of pockets and ventilation. Solid pair of pants for the mountain!
