I have owned Norvan LDs from all three generations - LD1, LD2, LD3, All three shoes broke after light and fairly short use (between 6 months and 1 year) at the exact same spot - where the upper mesh is attached to the lower part of the shoe. Arc'teryx makes great clothing, and I own many pieces that are still like new - many many years after I bought and used them. But venturing into shoes seems like a mistake, as Arc'teryx does not seem to have the expertise here. I would suggest to stick with what the company does best (awesome pieces of clothing), but leave shoes to companies that really know what they are doing (Salomon, Merrel, La Sportiva etc etc).

Love these shoes. I have clocked over 500kms in these puppies this summer and fall, through a mixture of trail running and multiday backpacking trips. Provides great comfort, grip, and stability. When I am hiking I am usually carrying 40lb - 50lbs of camera equipment and do 20-30km/day. My feet are never sore or uncomfortable. Never had a blister either.
Bought 2 months ago for Morocco trip. Overall excellent comfort, grip and durability. Would have been five stars but for one annoying thing — footbed’s are of poor quality. They formed up around my heel exposing my toes and any amount of re-positioning would not solve. Would of expected more given high quality brand…love all of my Arc’teryx gear!
Bought 2 weeks ago and so far very happy. Very comfortable and nice and wide. Only issue I had was the tongue tag Arc’Teryx isn’t for pulling on when getting the shoe on or adjusting the tongue. Left shoe tag came away from its seam after a hand full of wears. So no due pressure on that. Despite that, plenty other areas to pull on to adjust shoe.
Did 12 miles on trail out of the box. Really comfy. Firmer than my Salomons, but still super comfy. Look amazing. Did 20 miles of canyoneering over two days and they held up great, dried out really fast. Excited to put some more miles on these. Good toe box room as well, I have a mid-size foot.
I'm currently on my second pair of these trail shoes, and they have become my go-to option for all-around trail running. I've even used them on mellower mountainous runs and a few 50k races. Initially, I was unsure about the extra amount of cushioning these shoes provide, but I've come to appreciate the comfort they offer, especially on longer days out on the trails. The grip and lugs on these shoes are impressive, as they transition seamlessly from muddy and rooty terrain to snowy surfaces and vice versa.
Arc’teryx are not alone in this - but I still do not understand why supposed premium shoes come with ill fitting poor insoles. My UK size 11 insoles would progressively slide back in the shoe to the point where my toes could feel the undersole. Please partner with a brand that knows how to make insoles (sidas, sorbothane, ortholite)! The insoles have no structure around the heel cup which is the main issue. I have now swapped my insoles for those from an old pair of Hoka Clifton 7s and they work perfectly. Final issue - the laces twist up and undo to easily - change the material. I have put about 400km into these shoes.
Love them, Classic bold design. Super grip. Comfort even after 20h in a race. Took them for Großglockner Ultratrail in Austria last year, didnt regret the choice. Only I had to switch the insoles, but I guess thats my Personal preference. Wore them for 500 Miles yet but they will do at least 800 miles I think. Please dont change them. Gonna need new ones at autumn 🙃
Love the new Norvan 3. More cushion and room overall, compared to the Norvan 2, although I like the 2 as well. Love the color and the grippy sole. Being able to store the laces in the little pouch is great - especially when I commute to work on my bike. Really loving these new shoes. Keep up the good work - Arc!
After a year of these on trail, through rivers, I LOVE them. These are the best trail runners I have ever owned. I was hesitant to got back to laces after boa and speed laces, but honestly these are cheaper without Boa laces. And 1000 times better than speed laces. Actually, these laces are so good that they are a pain to untie after hard miles of hot desert. Mine had never came untied. I will never go back to GTX for a shoe. These dump water fast and dry enough that it’s barely noticeable. I will 100 buy another pair before they stop making this model.
