Altra is famous for its roomy toe box, and this model is no exception. The front of the shoe provides excellent space for comfort on long runs at the end of the day, while still maintaining a safe and secure fit. Over the past couple of weeks, I have used these shoes on all of my typical running surfaces - treadmill, sidewalk, paved trail, gravel trail, mulched trail, and dirt/mud trails. They excel on the paved surfaces but also performed surprisingly well on the mixed terrain despite not having a deep lug system. The sole shows minimal wear, encouraging for many miles to come. The cushioning on the shoe is very nice. It strikes a good balance of plush and responsive, with a nice forward-feeling rebound.
These shoes are awesome! Fabulous support and weightless I love them for a jog on concrete or grass. I will say they run a little snug so if you're unsure about sizing I'd size one up. Definitely recommend to teachers who are on their feet all day and just people who need the extra cushion. :)
The Altra Experience Form is a versatile and modern running shoe that really delivers what it says it's going to when it comes to comfort, performance, and foot health. The shape of this shoe offers a natural feel with a roomy toe box, while midsole technology enhances flexibility and responsiveness. I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis and this show helped to support my flare-ups that happen from time to time. The shoe is lightweight and molds perfectly to your feet from the second you put the shoe on. Overall, the Altra Experience Form is well-suited for various running activities, from daily walks to training at the gym, making it a solid option for anyone looking to improve their natural walking/running style.
Altra's are known for their roomy toe boxes, lightweight and supportive build, and low drop / rocker design, and these shoes are no different!! If you're coming from other shoe brands that don't have the low drop, there's a bit of a muscle learning curve, so to speak; but after a few wears, it does feel like these shoes are better for your feet in terms of providing flexibility, movement, and support. Having run with them on multiple surfaces, and having worn them during the day (e.g., errands, working at the office, etc.), I'm also impressed with the versatility of these shoes -- in function, comfort, and style! My favorite aspect of these shoes is definitely the weightless feel though, they're so beautifully designed and yet still incredibly supportive and comfortable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are SO comfortable!! These awesome Women's Experience Flow running shoe are my new best friend. The wide toe box allows my toes to spread the way they need to. These shoes are really lightweight, and I love the rocker in the heel. These shoes help my feet hold the proper position and allow easy movement. They have great tred, and come in cute colors!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received these complimentary Altra Running shoes! I really love the color and style of these shoes. However I would size up next time as I am normally a 9 and the fit is just a little snug! so I should’ve gotten a 9.5 but I went for a walk then a run shortly after receiving them and the support is good especially for running!
10/10 road running shoe! Great ankle/arch support, very lightweight but nicely cushioned. I ordered a size 8 and my normal size is 7.5 - I usually size up in sneakers 1/2 a size as I don't like extra room in toe box. They felt great on grass, gravel, pavement and cement on various hot and rainy days.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these shoes! They are 7.5 and fit true to size! I love how durable the shoes are. They are super comfortable and are super cute! I will be purchasing several different colors and I will recommend them to all of my friends and family! These shoes are perfect for running and going out and about!
At first glance the Altra Women’s Experience Flow running shoes didn't look all that interesting or attractive. And when I first put it on it wasn't actually comfortable. The heel protrudes inside so you feel like you may not have put it on correctly but you realize you have. The toe box felt roomy and it was snug across the mid section but I was definitely a little bothered by how the heel felt. Once I started running, I didn't even notice the heel protrusion and, frankly, it felt stabilizing. You get used to it pretty quickly once you're in it but that first few minutes I thought it was mildly uncomfortable. The second time I laced up, I felt it again but reminded myself that it would soon fade, which it did. And the run did feel good in them. Again, I think in some way it stabilized my feet. By the third time I put it on, I wasn't even thinking about it anymore and laced up and went out for a run on the pavement. It's light enough you don't really feel the weight of the sneaker. It's bouncy enough but not like other sneakers that you feel propel you forward awkwardly. It runs smoothly in the sense that once you're in a rhythm it does run weightless and you feel like you can finish the miles easily. I didn't experience any calluses or broken skin. No rubbing at all actually so in that sense, this was a huge win. Didn't really need to break it in at all which was nice.
When I first put these on, I thought, "Yes! Finally a decent looking running shoe with space for my wide-splaying toes!" But then I stood up. What the --?! They felt like walking in unsupportive sand. They actually caused my feet to overpronate. And you can see in the design why this would happen (see photos). The shoe obviously leans inward, and the sole doesn't have the denser material on the outer part of the heel, only on the inner. I guess a lot of people like this model, but they aren't for me. This isn't the first time this has happened to me with Altra. They drive me crazy. Why can't they just stick with the wide toe box thing like all us duckfooted people want, and not get so gimmicky with all the other stuff? I have some zero-drop and low-drop shoes that are ok, but frankly I prefer more cushioning. I just want a comfortable, stable shoe with enough space for my toes. This is not rocket science.
