Perfect blend of Modern & Old School Cool!
These shades are awesome. I've seen Julbo's original glacier glasses with the side shields before but I think they nailed it with this newer "throwback" version. The frame is super lightweight but nice and sturdy with the metal temple arms. They are also adjustable which I didn't realize when I bought them - super cool! The shield shields pop on and off very easily so I am able to wear them around town or out adventuring and look the part for whatever I am doing. I've always known Julbo made quality sunglasses and the Legacy certainly seems to continue that Legacy nicely (pun intended).
not bendable. failed in the field
I’ve had these for 2 seasons now. I bought them because they look great, and I love the concept. However despite really wanting to like them, I have allways hated them. Firstly the bridge doesn’t stay put so I am constantly pushing them up on my nose after perspiring a bit. Then under high exertion they almost always fog up… so I end up needing to take them off. To try and make them fit better I tried gently bending the supposedly “bendable” parts around my ears. These are very different from the jumbo classics and snapped off and became unusable this year. If you want to play mountaineer and have a cool pair of glasses go for it. If you want something that won’t fail and is actually useful for mountaineering this is not it. Failed on almost every account where it matters
New favorite glacier glasses
Love these! I had an old pair of the Vermont Classics from Jublo and wanted another similar looking pair. The side shields are easy to remove out in the field. I enjoy this style of temple arm more than the Vermont style. 4 stars because I wish there were more color options :)
Form Follows Function
I wanted this shape and liked the absence of that leather nose thingy, but was concerned about the earpieces not being adjustable to down behind my ears. My concern was unfounded. If anything, the earpieces are TOO robust, meaning it took some effort to bend them to my preference. Loooks wise, you can leave the side pieces on for adventure and remove them easily for post-adventure on the town. Really an exceptional value that looks great and performs perfectly across two venues!
SUCH a rad pair of sunglasses!
I've been looking for a dual use pair of sunglasses for hiking and casual use. This is them! They work perfect for blocking sun and wind when needed, but the Legacy also has the ability to easily remove the side-shields and they turn into a sharp looking lifestyle piece. I would 100% recommend buying The Spectron 4 lens, perfect for everything.
