I recently bought this tent to use on a two night camping trip in the George Washington National Forest in Va. A buddy and I arrived and set up camp after dark at about 4,000 ft of elevation. Using a light, the tent was simple to set up with little visibility. The first night brought a light snow and a low temp of 5 degrees. Even though the tent is largely mesh, the rain fly provides enough of a barrier to be warm in this weather in a quality sleeping bag. The second night temp was somewhere in the teens with higher winds. The tent held up well without the use of guy lines. The tent is spacious for a 3P. I am 6’3” 250lbs and the tent would easily sleep another person of my size. I would recommend this tent.
Decided on this 2 person tent in order to have plenty of room for gear. The first weekend using we had significant downpours. The rain fly protected well. The 2 door access is amazing. I do agree the zipper door is a little awkward, but I plan to purchase the FixNZIP that others have referenced. Very easy to put up and pack up without assistance. Found a YouTube video on a trick for putting up in the rain. I would purchase it again.
I researched and compared tents for hours to find this tent, which just arrived and is perfect! Appears I will get years of use, well made. Light at 4-1/2 pounds, 4-season, and lifetime warranty. Super easy to set up and take down, instructions are shown sewed onto bag that holds all. I needed a 1-person tent for overnight hikes when it’s just me, but opted to get this 2 person so daughter could use it camping with friends. I have a 55L bag type backpack and this tent fits inside fine while leaving room for my other items. I got this green color on closeout sale and love it, great deal! Glad I went with the 2person for some extra room when just me, I am 5’10” and 195#. I recommend this tent.
This is my second tent from Nemo. My first tent, the vestibule started to separate so they gave me a replacement. The Aurora 2p which is what I have I would’ve preferred the blue, but all they had was the green not a problem with that the tent itself is fantastic set up very quickly, very spacious on the inside. I use it for motorcycle touring and backpacking. And it has never failed me. the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is the zipper. My old tent had a two-way zipper. This only has a one-way zipper and for me, I feel that’s a big drawback. Other than that you cannot find fault with this tent at all fantastic tent
Overall a great tent for beginners. Well made and durable materials, huge space, and nice lamp pocket to diffuse light, very intuitive to set up. However it’s a little too heavy as a backpacking tent. Also, the door having one zipper is a bummer because you have to zip all the way around to open it, it’s inconvenient when there are lots of mosquitoes and you want to be as fast as possible, but it seems they fixed this issue in the new version. Another thing to improve is how the pole ends are attached to the tent corners when setting up, the design allows the poles to get out of the holes so sometimes you have to reattach it. It’s nice to include the footprint.
Great tent. Kept us nice and dry through a night of rain. Looking forward to using it for more trips. Very long and fit my 6'4'' boyfriend and I well.
It's a nice tent! I'm very satisfied. Goes up easy once it's staked into the ground wind has little effect.
Super easy set up with lots of room. A little heavy and bulky for packing solo. But very well made.
I bought this earlier this summer. Used it for a couple of nights in RMNP. Was perfect. Very roomy. Easy to set up and break down. Love the features, the footprint, the "porches", the pockets, the height, etc. The features are very well thought through. The only negative (but not worth knocking a star off the rating) is the zipper for the door. I wish there would've been a zipper from both ends so that it would be easier to reach when opening and closing the door. Otherwise, I am very happy with the purchase.
To be fair, I haven’t actually had a chance to use this tent yet, but I did set it up in my living room, and I have to say, this is the easiest, fastest tent I have ever had to set up! It literally took me just minutes. I mean, after I spent a good half hour trying to set it up while thinking the rain fly was the tent. That was all user error. Once I realized my mistake (I was super happy there were no witnesses) I had it up in probably under five minutes! And I love the color!
