I recently started a restrictive diet, Whole30 and was looking for an easy cook kit to take with me to scout out a couple of sections of the Appalachian Trail that I will be backpacking this Spring. This pan perfectly fried up some 2 eggs, a little half of a chicken apple sausage and some pepper onion mix. I would recommend a quick seasoning with olive oil to prevent sticking. As a note, I have the 115mm pan that is part of my winter backpacking cook kit. I backpack with a Service Animal and make her warm eggs from a powder with the samller pan.
Pot and pan combos in the Backcountry? Yes please! Small enough to not add much bulk and weight and great for little things you may want to heat up or fry on the side. Time for soup and grilled cheese!
Super lightweight. Great for eggs or small items you can fit inside of it.
I bought this for a backpacking trip. When I used it as a plate, the handle collapsed once I added any weight to it. If you’re spending this money on a tiny pan, go ahead and buy something better.
my first trip out, I pulled this out to make some eggs. The bottom was convex and the outside of the egg cooked before the middle. Still, mmm, mmm, mmm, eggs. As I took my first bits, I squeezed a little too hard on the handle causing it to fold down and dump my nice, hot eggs on the ground. I was crushed. It seems a little counter-intuitive in hindsight
The niche for the the Toaks titanium frying pan is when weight savings are important: a quick day hike or a multi-day backpacking trip .
