Very stylish and functional jacket!

I bought the blue and brown version of this and I am really enjoying it so far, the colors, warmth, ventilation and overall look and few are excellent. The jacket is also lightweight and warmer than you would expect for how thin it is. All things you expect from good wool products. A couple notes so far, I am a little concerned about piling under the arms, I have seen other soft jackets use a slicker material under the arm area to extend the life of the jacket. Also if you are a medium and you have larger arms it is a little tight in the bicep area especially if you are wearing layers underneath. But overall would recommend and it is a great jacket!

Not for colder weather wear

Misleading as it's < 50% wool & very overpriced. It's made for skinny people so order 1 size Up! Sleeves don't have nylon lining so short sleeves are pulled up! It's so thin that wind Cuts right through the wool. Bought past season's model with ivory body & brown arms; it was fashionable but that's it. Returned it as it's not worth it! If you're going to market it as a "wool" product then make it at least ~> 90% wool, considering the darn high prices of the products. It's a rip off! Also make it thick enough to wear during the chilly autumn & winter seasons. Otherwise disclose the actual usage intended instead of misleading, if not lying, about the product to sell it!

Favorite new fleece!

I've been wearing this recently during some classic upstate New York autumn weather -damp and chilly , it's been a perfect cover up by itself. Took the bite out of early morning wind and light rain wasn't an issue. #SmartwoolLove

Excellent all-around Jacket for the Fall

I have been wearing this jacket for about 2 weeks now, and absolutely love it. Fit is perfect, its styled well enough to wear to the office, but works just as well in the middle of the woods. It's surprisingly warm for the weight, and keeps me feeling dry even in a drizzle. Its very soft which was a plus as well, no scratching from the material. I have used this so for for working in the yard, wearing around the house, and several day hikes - and have been comfortable for all of them. Would recommend. My only real con I have experienced is some minor pilling around the areas that rub around (sleeve cuffs, tail), but that was my expectation with a wool coat anyway. Does not detract from the function of the coat at all.

Fits and looks great but wools starts to ball out

Fits and looks great and warm as well. Only issue is that fur ball.. smart wool started ball out making cloth look bad after couple of weeks.

Great quality, super warm.

I love everything about this fleece zip up hoodie. Though I will say, the sleeves and shoulder/arm joint holes are just a little small/tight for a man who has muscled arms and shoulders, and I got the extra large because I noticed Smartwool seems to make their jacket designs for smaller skinnier men, but other than that I love it.

Cozy as all get out!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I've only been able to wear it out and about, but I can already tell this will be my new campfire hoodie. It's soft and plenty warm for my local climate. It's not winter yet, so I'm not sure how it'll do in super cold weather, but for a fall hoodie, it's about as perfect as they come. #smartwoollove

Practical and warm - just what I was after

In an effort to reduce synthetics in my life, I went looking for a wool hoodie. Specifically one to use as a mid layer for winter fieldwork, with a hood to pull up under my hard hat to keep my head and neck warmer. I ended up purchasing this one and it's turned out great. I've worn it for a couple months now, in wet and cold (30's F) conditions, and have been thankful to have it - it totally fits the bill. The pockets are well sized for stuffing cold hands into and the zipper chest pocket is handy and holds a modern smartphone nicely. The hood fits comfortably over my head and stays on in the wind, even without a drawstring. This is not the handsome sweater you'll cherish and wear for winter festivities. Rather, it's a wool fleece (not a typical knit fabric) that pills pretty readily, and is not exactly beautiful, but is super practical and warm, which is what I was after. The upper arms are a bit snug, though not uncomfortably so, and as mentioned it does pill pretty quickly. I'd recommend as practical wear, along the lines of a typical fleece jacket.

what happened to integrity..

This is by far the worst product I’ve ever purchased from Smartwool and will never buy anything with that name again! I’ve been a longtime used and the last 3 year all of my SW purchases have been nothing but poorly made.

Narrow in arms and shoulders

I am normally a size large, but this hoodie runs very small through the arms and shoulders. Unless you have very skinny arms, I would recommend sizing up from your regular size.
