Alpaca Fiber - Runs small but stretches over time

This short-sleeve alpaca base layer is great for someone who has sensitivity to sheep wool but wants the same level of warmth and breathability. It's very comfortable and not itchy whatsoever. I'll be on the lookout for more products from this brand. Relative to wool from sheep, alpaca fiber (this is what the "wool" equivalent is called from alpacas) does not have much natural elasticity or give. Therefore, the shirt may run a little tight at first and as you wear it you may notice it stretches out. It doesn't bounce back the way that wool does when you wash it, so you may want to order a size that is initially a little smaller so that you don't have a stretched out shirt over time.

I LOVE it and sized up

I ordered the Vneck version of this T directly from the manufacturer, but I want to write a review here in case it's helpful for others. My chest is 33.5" and according to their size chart, I'm in between xs and s. Because this is 100% alpaca wool (and could shrink or stretch) I ordered the larger of the 2 - in S. I figured better a little too big than a little too small. The fit is perfect! I love the soft but textural fabric, warm but breathable. I bought in 2 colors as this T has become a staple in wardrobe. Doesn't hold onto odors I can wear many many times before washing (inside out, in mesh bag, on gentle, dry flat) and it doesn't stink. Highly recommend these T's!
