Parents beware!
I am really disappointed in these shoes. I bought them for my son about two weeks ago. He wears them like I would expect a kid to wear Keens, meaning he is not precious with them and wears them outside. They have been dirty and wet. Our last pair of Keens this was NOT a problem, which is why we bought these. However, the quality is so disappointing on these shoes. After 2 weeks the sole is coming apart from the fabric (the glue isn't holding?) on the sides, the blue detailing is already pealing off. We were going to bring these hiking next month, but I don't think they will last that long. This is NOT a tough show.

These fell apart within 1 month. Do not buy. Will not survive your 5 year old.
Quickly falls apart
The shoe began to delaminate at the toe area after one week of use by my son. We never had a similar issue with the quality of a Keen product before.

Loved loved loved this shoe and the fit for my 7 year old. I purchased these going against the reviews that stated they came apart, hoping this pair would last. I was wrong. The toe in these came apart lifting off of the shoe after only one week of wear and only at school. These weren't even used for weekends or after school play.
Good shoe for adventures
So far so good. Not waterproof, but offers good protection as is. On and off is easy with the strap and materials. Feet slide right in. We do a lot of exploring and these shoes give the grip needed for the terrain we are on. They are also quite flexible in the toe even new. Decently comparable to the running type shoe we moved from. Would recommend
Terrible Quality
These shoes tore at the toe after only 2 weeks. Do not purchase these! After 2 weeks they were unwearable. The lining around the edge of the shoe was falling off on both shoes.
Falling apart
Was excited for these given the sturdy front toe cap however that very area is coming unattached after 2 weeks. Sad. Good company bad produxt
Great tennis shoe
My very picky almost-5-year-old will actually wear these!!! They are easy for him to get on and off himself and he never complains while wearing them (translated: they are very comfortable). I love the extra toe protection l, since that's where most of our shoes wear the most. I like these shoes so much that I ordered another pair for my 7-year-old (different color, of course 😉). Hooray for no PFAS!!!
Comfortable but coming apart quickly
My kid likes them a lot, they're very comfortable for him. However, the rubber at the front began peeling after only a month of wear, so as a parent I'm not impressed with the quality. We'll keep them since my kid likes them, but in the future I'll look at other brands. In our experience Merrell shoes have held up better than KEENs for kids.
