In one word: versatile!

Blocks enough wind, sheds enough rain, and provides enough insulation to use as an outer layer for cool weather aerobic pursuits in the PNW; breathes well enough to use as a colder-weather midlayer under a hardshell. I prefer wool as a next-to-skin layer, but this one doesn't feel clammy worn over a short-sleeve tee. I'm very happy with this hoody, and it quickly found its place in my rotation. I'm consistently a large in Black Diamond jackets, but I wish this was cut a bit trimmer. Five stars otherwise. If I was ordering again, I might have tried the medium and hoped the sleeves were long enough.

Poufter Purple CoEf Storm Hoody

Love this waffle-back hoody. Gorgeous color. Nice pockets I'm 5'8" 140lbs and I got the small~ it's patterned trim, it seems, and the hood fit is juuust right with or without a hat or beanie. I just use it casually around town and for bouldering in the foothils (7,500') over a T-shirt and/or under various shells or trim-fitting puffys. My performance-fit (small) Factor Hoody is more suited for technical applications than the CoEf Storm, which is WAY more fun, by far!! The "Poufter Purple" color goes great with the biG white goggle-eyed Oakley Clifdens and 80s vintage Vuarnet 028s I like to wear.

Pilling from Day 1

I wanted to like this jacket. Great fit, nice color, fabric weight just what I wanted. Alas, this fabric starting pilling right away. The sleeves and lower body are covered with tiny pills everywhere. It looks like it is 10 years old despite only wearing it for a few months.

Perfect warmth & comfort

I got this hoodie on a Black Friday sale and I have been wearing it regularly for four weeks now. It's a great lightweight hoodie that keeps me warm on my evening walks when the temperatures are in the mid 40 degrees and it also works well and a layer underneath my winter jacket when the temperatures are in the 20's. The fit is on the slimmer side so plan accordingly when ordering. I purchased this to wear in cooler weather for golfing and given the stretch of the material, I think it will work perfectly for that. I am very happy with this product!

I like it

This is a wonderful jacket. I find it very comfortable. The fabric is pretty sweet; I took it to Olympic National Park recently and I used it daily, on it's own, and under a shell. It stands well against light moisture and wind. The hood fits well. Only issue I found with it were the cuffs, they are too big, and the sleeves fall past my hands. I wish there were some type of elasticity incorporated in them to help hold them in place. I ordered a size L, it is roomy for me, but not overly baggy. I'm 5'11" and 178 pounds.

Great layer

I use this for rucking, fabric is very sturdy and has enough flex to allow free movement when stretching and exerting. Best part is the fact it’s like a thin jacket so you have the pockets to keep phone and ear budss in a thin layer that doesn’t get in the way. Only minor issue I found is I should have ordered 1 size bigger. I ordered my normal size for BD gear and it’s a little smaller than I normally like. But I like the other aspects of it so much I’m getting used to the fit rather than return.

Good Softshell

Nothing game changing here but a great softshell nonetheless. Very stretchy. Hood and collar work well with helmets. The grid fleece is spread out and seems more oriented to wicking than warmth. Sized on the bigger side for layers under. I'm usually an XL and could wear a large in this but the XL will work. Only gripe is that the cuffs are too big with no way to close them; I usually have the opposite issue.

Amazing for sports

I bought this as a present for my boyfriend who just started climbing. The color is amazing and rich. The fit is incredible, we have previously purchased some other jackets from other brand and the Medium tends to be too small, and the large too big. But I think this one is the perfect true to size hoody. The fabric is amazing for mid mountain trekking and has a polar covering in the inside.

Poor material

I washed this item once under normal conditions, and there is widespread pilling all over it. It looks a bit ridiculous. Fit is a bit boxy and short in the torso. I purchased it on sale so cannot return it. It will go on the donation pile. I was hoping this would be similar to a Patagonia techface but it is nowhere close. What a waste.

Solid as usual for BD

This is a really solid, comfortable fleece hoodie on the lighter / light + / medium side of weight. Light enough to send in during the fall, I prob wouldn't take it out on my coldest winter days but it's a great cold season mainstay. I love the purple color! great quality as usual for BD
