Waterproof and well made

A good raincoat. It hits below my knees, which I like so that the rain doesn’t drip on my knees. I’m 5’4” and long legged. The sleeves are too long for me, but I know that taller women will appreciate that. I bought a 2X because I layer a vest underneath. A 1X would have fit okay otherwise. I like the hood, it doesn’t fall in my eyes and has room to fit over a ball cap. The zipper has a tendency to snag on the material, but I’m so glad that it’s a double. I wish there were snaps for a quick on and off without bothering with the zipper.

super disappointing

I like the color and length but that is it. Despite sizing up to accommodate a sweater/etc I found it tight in the shoulders when trying it on with a t-shirt. The hood doesn't extend out far enough over the face to be sufficient in blowing rain. The sleeves have elastic cuffs which seems cheap and aren't tight enough (I would want a strap to make them flush to keep out water). There is no back ventilation like I'd want to see in a coat at this price point. The external waist adjustment looks bad if you adjust it in significantly, and still wasn't enough for me to not look like I was wearing a tent.

Love this jacket!

Love this jacket! The fabric is surprisingly soft especially for a rain jacket. Has kept me dry and not overly hot in Vermont summer downpours. I'm 5'10" and the sleeves are long enough. Fits really well.

Love it -- had to size down though

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is THE perfect rain/wind/cool evening jacket for Spring and Fall weather. From the best TNF crop -- quality materials, great confection, nice details. It does keep the rain out like the best TNF winter / cold weather parkas do, and looks great. It's not one of those technical pieces that are priceless in a hike but don't quite work in the city. It works and looks great in Brooklyn and the Catskills. I LOVE long jackets and, at 5' 3", this one is perfect in length -- bellow the knees, lovely, not by the ankles. While it's not oversized (can't take that trend anymore, what a dud for a petite), for me, usually a medium in jackets, this M was too big -- more a tent than a top layer. The S works great, both over tees and layers including chunky sweaters. I have it in the dark currant color, which is magnificent, and am considering getting a second one in another color.

So close to perfect

I love this jacket. the length is great, i love the cuffs. it fits great. 4.5 stars because the hood could be a little bit bigger. I ordered a M and typically wear M-L sizes. It's big enough to layer an insulating puffy without feeling too big. The hood is too small and my hat will get wet or if i'm wearing a hoody, that will get wet. I still love it and only wish i'd gotten a longer raincoat sooner.

Great style but thinner than expected!

Beautiful style. A little more yellow in person than expected but it's a lovely color. The jacket runs very large. I am a size large per the size chart but the jacket looked visibly huge on me (sleeves too long, shoulders too wide), not in a fashionable oversize way. It's also thinner than expected though it says medium weight. It's more of a wind breaker and rain jacket than a coat for much warmth.

Love this rain parka

I came across this jacket online and had tp have it. I already have one, but above the knee. This checks all the boxes! I walk 2-3 miles in the morning, and these Pacific Northwest days are wet and chilly. This coat is excellent. I am 5'3" and 125lbs and purchased a medium. It is roomy-just what I wanted. Great for layering other pieces and still have comfortable movement.

enjoy one now

terrific design /construction especially the hood (stays on). cinch-able! (expands to fit easily over puffcoats etc). plenty long (no wet knees). quiet substantial fabric. zip pockets large-ish (wish it had interior large pockets) uncomplicated wrist elastic (no ratty velcro). terrific price! should last foeva. (thank you tnf for 45+ yrs of hard wearing beauties)

Best rain jacket.

I love this rain jacket. My complaint about the rain jackets I have used before are that they are too warm. I want to have something to wear when I walk. And since I live in Oregon it rains. A LOT. So, I needed something that was light weight, not too thick and heavy, and not super warm but that will keep me dry. This jacket works perfectly. I love it!!

Perfect for rainy days in Northern California

Love this jacket! It is on the thinner side, but usually not a problem for me as it retains any heat well (especially if you have layers underneath). Really sleek and classy jacket with waterproof material that works. It also runs large - I'm usually a size medium and sized down to a small and can still wear a semi-bulky sweater underneath.
