Missed the mark.

The concept is great, however the bottom of the screen portion missed the mark. The removable floor needs a better method to secure it to the screened tent portion. The connectors do little to hold it in place. Mosquitoes easily come in from the gaps. I suppose it might work well if you are on a hard surface such as concrete.

Pinholes -disappointing quality control

Nice shelter but poor quality control. Okay if you get a good one! Pin holes in the roof from new means it isn’t going to last very long. Will call for a replacement.

easy to setup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Sky shade Screen dome 8x8 in Fog color to test. This screen dome only took 10-15 mins to setup. Its really consist of just putting the poles together and putting the poles thru the loops. Once that is done, just use the clip to clip screen dome to the poles and anchor the screen dome as needed. The bottom is removeable. It also took only 10-15 mins to take the screen dome apart and fold it all back into the storage bag. I wasn’t able to really test this screen dome against bugs because it’s the middle of spring right now and the weather is leaning more towards cold and rainy, so no bugs around. I can’t wait until summer arrives so my family and I can sit outside in the screen dome to enjoy being outside without having insects bug us. I do feel like 8 x 8 is a little small but then again, I only have a family of four, so we should fit.

Good tent for a day trip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This skyshade is perfect for a day trip, we took it with us for a day camping by the lake, to the beach and park. It is great for picnic in the park, you can protect your food and yourself from bugs, flies. We have a toddler and this tent has been a lifesaver when she was tired and wanted to nap at the beach or when we had to change her diaper or just chill when it is too hot. It protects from sun and winds for sure. I am not very sure about rain though, not sure if it sturdy enough to stand well in rain. As most of the Coleman products it is easy to setup and doesn't take a lot of effort to secure it.

Great small tent, sturdy, easy to put up

Great smaller screen tent. Easy to put up, fully no-seeum mesh, has a removable bottom. We loved having this smaller version of the screen tent because we camp in smaller campsites. We had no issue fitting it into tight spaces. Good quality. Do wish the elastic in the poles was a bit tighter. Tip is to push the poles through, don't try to pull them. We got very quick at putting it up doing this. It is very sturdy and holds up to wind well. We wish Coleman would make a rain tarp for it, but we did just fine using another light camping tarp. Love this tent and the value is unbeatable.

Easy Setup!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This screen dome tent is really easy to setup and use. The bag it stores in is spacious enough to store all the stakes, poles, tent, and floor easily. I was able to roll it all back up and fit in bag easily and after I did, I saw there was a tape piece on bottom of bag that said remove to expand bag further. So, if you have trouble with it apparently you have extra room. I didn't need it. Inside the bag attached to the side you will find the instructions for setup and break down of the screen dome. My wife and I found this to be pretty straight forward. The screen dome has enough room for me to stand up in easily and I’m 6'4. I have to slightly duck to get through door, but once I get inside it has plenty of head room. There is a hanger in middle for hanging a light or something and then two pockets on opposite corners you can place something in as well. We really liked this design, and the floor is optional, but we found it really adds the finishing touch especially if you want this for your kids or small children to hang out in.

Excellent product for the price

This is an excellent tent for the price. I needed a place outside in the shade where the flies and bees could not get to me where I could just sit or take a nap without constantly swapping flies off of me. This product does the job. One drawback however. The floor is not connected to the tent and that was a huge problem trying to keep bugs out. So I actually hand stitched the floor to the bottom of the tent stitch by stitch with clear thread. Took several hours but it was totally worth it. It should come stitched together at the factory. I’m very pleased.

Great addition for my little tent

I love the 8'x8' size. It's inexpensive, and it has plenty of head space so that I can stand up (which I can't do in my little tent). I car-camp, and this is a great accompaniment for my little tent. Although it's not made of an exotic micro-gram fabric, it isn't heavy, and it sets up and then packs up easily. Also, inexpensive (I said that already). If you are thru-hiking some super long trail -- this isn't for you. Car-camping - it's great! Quick note: Do READ the directions beforehand (of course I wanted to snap all those bungie-corded pieces of pole together before staking out the floor. Don't. Do wait until the correct time) The floor is separate. You can leave it at home if you are trying to save weight; although it doesn't take up significant space.

Durable and strong

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coleman has a great line of tents. I really enjoy my skyshade tent. It's fast and easy to assemble the first few times it took me longer reading instructions but once I learned it it's a breeze to assemble even for one person to do. It's large enough to fit me and my kids and in provides great shade and if there's bugs it has a zip around netting as well. Comes in handy when we're trying to eat. Its compact when taken down and goes back into its carry bag easy.
