Work great for car camping

Received free product

These dishes are great for car camping. They are stainless steel so they can take a beating from my toddler and still function perfectly. I found them easy to clean and easy to pack in the included sack. There are four different types of dish from flat plate to full bowl to accommodate many different types of food. We used mostly for cold foods so not sure if they get hot when handling hot foods.

Excellent for picnics, patio, and camping

Received free product

I love the design of this set! The way it nests perfectly, the subtle bevel and the rolled edges make these feel special, not like your average camping set. Great design and light weight makes these a pleasure to use - for picnics, on the patio, and for camping. My only gripe is I wish they'd left the branding off the inside of the dishes; this takes away somewhat from the simple beauty of the set (and the branding is also on the bottom). Cleanup is easy too, with the minor exception that the plates (only the plates, not the other dishes) have a ridge at the lip where food can get stuck.

Great all around dishes

Received free product

“I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review.” Love these dishes!! We took them out on a weekend camping trip, and have brought them back into the house and have continued to use them daily for lunches, snacks, and treats. They are great in size, and easy to take along since they nest in each other and fit in an included carrying bag. They are also easy to clean, especially if you are camping and have limited resources. You have to be a little careful if you put something hot in them since they are metal they do get hot. We will be going on a few trips this summer and these will be a staple to bring. It is nice that the plates have a edge so things don't slide off easy. Our friends that went with us on the trip, liked the dishes so much they bought some when they got home.

Wow! Outstanding dinnerware set

Received free product

I received this product for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. The only user who rated this item on the REI website gave it a “one.” Perhaps the user thought that “one” was the highest rating, not the lowest. The Snow Peak Tableware Set in stainless steel is an impressive product. It includes four small bowls, four medium bowls, four dishes (basically broad, shallow pasta bowls), and four plates for a total of 16 pieces. The set could easily be used to serve eight hungry diners. The website includes dimensions but not volume. Since my partner will be using one of the bowls for backpacking and packraft river trips, we measured volume. I include a steel Sierra Club cup for comparison. Volume is measured to a useable level, not to the very top of the container. Sierra Club cup: weight 84 grams, volume 8 fluid ounces Smallest Snow Peak bowl: weight 72 grams, volume 10 fluid ounces Medium Snow Peak bowl: weight 102 grams, volume 16 fluid ounces Conclusion: Take one of the Snow Peak bowls for all meals. The four different sizes are sufficient to serve eight hungry diners at one time, not just four. We have replaced the motley assortment of plastic plates and bowls in our tiny Scamp trailer with this Snow Peak set. They all stack together and fit into the included storage bag. Excellent set for small trailer or car camping.

Plates look okay, but have LEAD in them.

I bought these online and when they arrived the first thing I noticed is there is a large warning on the box that says "WARNING: this product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects..." Lead in something I'm going to be eating off of? No thanks! Also annoying it makes no mention of this online - I wouldn't have wasted my time buying it if it was disclosed online.

Beautiful upgrade from plastic dishes

Received free product

First off these are positively beautiful. All the dishes except for the plates have a matte finish similar to what you’d expect with titanium—but have a unique luster to them, and are well proportioned and a huge step up from the serviceable-yet-gaudy plastic dishes I’ve been working with up to this point. These are stainless steel, not aluminum or titanium, but individually they feel pretty light to me. The set as a whole is pretty heavy- but that’s 16 dishes. One thing I love about this is it’s plenty of dishes for a picnic or car camping, but each piece is light enough that I’m planning to take one or two backpacking. Small quibbles- the finish makes fingerprints super visible, and I can get some flex (if I try) with the plates. But at this point I have no concerns about durability and I love looking at them. Highly recommend.
