Warm and comfortable!

Think early spring or fall picnics, summer camping, a cool night outside on the patio, or enjoying an outdoor movie or sporting event. This blanket feels similar to a light summer sleeping bag, and warms like a comfortable living room blanket. My girlfriend and I (and the pup) recently went on a car camping trip up the northern coast of California. We had mostly sunny weather, but it was windy and certainly chilly at times (50-60F). This blanket kept us warm, fought the wind with ease, and was big enough for the two of us when sitting close. I slept with it as my main source of warmth for two nights, while my girlfriend slept in her sleeping bag. I was warm all night, I was completely covered (5'9" / 180), and found it to be very comfortable. It has a bit of a feeling of a summer sleeping bag, but it's also very soft, light, and stores away easily. It comes with a cinch sack that easily holds the blanket (cinch sack doesn't compress). Unfolding and folding it back up took only seconds. I spilled a beverage on it and it cleaned up quickly without staining and it was completely dry again within minutes. The color is brown on one side and light green (spring green maybe?) on the other. It looks nice and would go well with most tent decor. It is too bulky to take with you in the backcountry, but it's perfect for van life, car camping, music festivals, sporting events, outdoor movies, picnics, and equally good for both adults and kids. We plan on using it for all of the above, plus out on our deck for cooler evenings. If you are looking for a warm, durable, camping style blanket, this will likely be just what you're looking for.

Warm, mess resistant, good size

Warm, mess resistant, light enough for car camping or a short walk to a picnic site. I got chicken bbq sauce on it and it wiped up pretty easily. I’ll still have to spot clean but it wasn’t terrible. Not super breathable so I wouldn’t have a toddler sleep under it, but it’s really nice and cosy for family snuggles. I wish I knew which side was supposed to be the inside. I assume the light green side but it’s kind of unclear.

Great car camping comforter

This comforter will now be standard in my car camping kit. I typically sleep in the back of my truck with a camper shell and find that I very rarely zip into my sleeping bag so a comforter seemed like a logical option. The Trailgate was comfortable and warm. There is no temperature rating, but I found that I was warm enough on a mid-50s night and may do alight in the low 50s with a sleeping bag liner or sheet. One side of the comforter has a typical sleeping bag material, which is slightly water resistant, while the other is a softer material, which I enjoyed, because I’m not a fan of the normal sleeping bag material on my skin. This is NOT a backpacking comforter, it is bulky and does not pack down. That being said I have found myself using it around the house, taking it on ski trips, and for the pup

Warm, Queen-sized comforter

I was surprised by the thickness and size of this comforter. I expected, as with most camping products, that being described as 2-person would mean it was closer to a full-sized mattress. Surprisingly, it’s the same size as a queen-size comforter, and slightly thicker than the standard Costco-sold comforter. The material is not soft, but similar to the polyester material of an outdoor jacket like the Patagonia Nanopuff. This product, even in its compression bag, is definitely meant for car-camping. It’s fairly heavy, and takes up a similar volume as my rolled-up ALPS Mountaineering Outback Mat in the large size.

Camp blanket meets comforter

Unlike some of the other "camp" blankets I own, I love how the comforter's thick material feels-it's not by any means paper thin. I could use it outside and easily go inside and fall asleep with it. I could see this being an awesome piece of gear for someone who car camps and wants a singular piece of gear that works as both a camp blanket and sleeping comforter. I'm 5'11" and have no problem with the single version fitting my whole body under it in bed without feet sticking out or taking it outside and worry about it dragging on the ground (take it long ways and wrap around my torso). My senior dog takes every chance he can to make himself at home when it's out and I don't have to worry about his paws possibly damaging the comforter. The only drawback to it is its packability. It takes up a sizable amount of room in its bag it comes with. The only way around that would be to get a compression sack (like you would for a sleeping bag).

Warm, smooth and light

After receiving this amazing comforter, my family tested its warmth by standing in the early morning 30-ishÂşF air on our patio for as long as we could. We can attest the comforter could keep us warm on the coolest mornings. The insulation is so light and fluffy it was as if we wrapped ourselves in a warm cloud. The exterior of the comforter is basically sleeping bag material but of the smoothest fabric that slid across our skin. The comforter now lives with my aunt who is always cold and has kept her warm these last several weeks of cold nights.

Love this comforter!

I really like this product! When I opened the box for some reason I didn't expect it to look as nice. even the bag it comes in is nice! Maybe its because it's a good color 🤷🏼‍♀️ I like the 2-toned comforter. We sleep in the car when camping and it was super comfortable. It seems to be a good cross between a heavy sleeping bag and a blanket. It still provided plenty of warmth without being too warm. The fact that it's a comforter instead of a bag you crawl into helps it be breathable. Im a fan

Warm and comfortable

This review is for the 2 person version. I tested it on a queen sized camping air mattress and used it as a replacement for my usual down comforter on day 2. We didn't notice any temperature difference with this over our down comforter. The down breathes better and is lighter but this works well as a replacement for car camping. It comes with a stuff sack that is annoying to get back into. When packed, it's almost as large as my 18 month old. When not used for camping, it's been sitting around our house as a fort blanket for the kids.

Versatility and Good Warmth.

There is a "sleeping bag effect" to the design of this comforter. The filling creates top warmth that an ordinary comforter lacks but your not "zippered in" as you would be in a bag. Its a good size and very light. This summer, I may take this camping and use it in conjunction with my sleeping bag by unzipping the bag, use it as the base and this as a top cover.
