I have used this only twice now, both for the purposes I bought it for- doing it jigsaw puzzles and walking my dogs. I walk my dogs rain or shine twice a day, 365 days a year and I can not believe I have gone so long without a headlamp, this was absolutely game changing! The light is SO bright, tonight we walked in the pouring rain well after dark and I felt it was almost daylight illumination. My two comments- I wouldn't want to wear this for extended periods of time as it did hurt my head ever so slightly and the backside of the light gets warm on my forehead (perhaps I will get use to both within time and I might even be happy of the warmth on a cold winters day). But besides this, I am over joyed at buying this product. Love that is is rechargable, we have several biolit products and they're all awesome.

This worked great the first few months I had it. Then, it began to die within minutes of being turned on, even after having it on a charger for a whole day. I can't even use it for longer than 30 seconds now before it cuts out (despite charging it and having its indicator lights show it's fully charged), so it's essentially useless.
It seems from other reviews I am not the only one having this issue. Huge bummer for something that I really liked prior to this problem.

I have a few of these, one for the car, two in my bug out bags, one for around the house and one for work. I use the one at work the most as I am a BART train car mechanic working underneath the train cars. I especially like this brand for two reasons, it's light weight and it's rechargeable. The adjustment of the headband can be done while on the head, which is nice. I can adjust it to wear it over my safety bump cap at work or on my bare head if I'm up I side the car working with my hands down inside in a door panel. Also the adjustable tilt of the light itself makes it great for the latter. Excellent light! I would absolutely recommend it.

Doesn’t work after one use

Very disappointed. It worked once for a backpacking trip and I loved it. Very comfortable, very bright. But I just took it with me this weekend to another backpacking trip and it is completely non-functioning. It is 100% charged the lock is off according to the instructions and it just won’t turn on. I press the on button and the battery pack responds by showing me the battery level but the light never turns on. So I was stuck up on a mountain with no headlamp for an entire weekend. I’ve owned many different headlamps by many different brands and I’ve never had this happen. I’ve lost any confidence I previously had in this brand of headlamp. Biolite, please fix this and I’ll update my review.

lamp turns off with full battery

I like the design. The on button is easy to push. The light is sufficient. I've been using it for about 2 years, a few times a week. But the lamp turns off after a few minutes of use even though it is fully charge. :(

I bought this for my BF's Christmas present, and he loves it. I had purchased one a few months ago, and have been raving to him about it. Its light, recharagble (no extra costs or being wasteful qith batteries), perfectly balance on your head). He has worn it twice and gives it an A+

I love this headlamp! It's very light and comfortable to wear and stays snug against my head without that too tight feeling that always gives me a headache with other headlamps. I like the low profile front--less weight in the front definitely increases the amount of time I can wear it comfortably. I was initially worried about having something on the backside of headlamp band (because which of us has not had "that" lamp with the ginormous battery pack poking you in the back of the head before) but it's no issue. I put on the headlamp and it's so light and perfectly fitted it literally disappears-- I forget I have it on until I need it.

Why would anyone buy a tool with such a short lifespan. After a year or so the head lamp charge becomes shorter and shorter AND will just simply shut off all of a sudden without warning. Do not depend on this headlamp for the trail or camp in the evening or at night over time. So many other headlamps have a way of replacing the rechargeable battery when its time has come. Also this headlamp is the hardest unit to turn on and off that I have ever had. Frustratingly so. It will hurt your knuckle if your finger slips. I have other BioLite products that are working fine but the design of this one is, well, they just simply dropped the ball.
