Long Lasting Use

I have had this cook set for nigh on 12 years at this point. I've lost bits and pieces, mussed up the covering on one of the bowls, broken the utensils due to my stew being too thick, you name it, I've done it with this set. It all works wonderfully and fits together very neatly which is super efficient. The pot is deep but not terribly wide, which is less of a problem than you might think. The handle looks flimsy, but is solid and reliable. The utensils are rather flimsy however. It easily fits back into the bag as well. I was just looking for some new gear and stumbled upon this product and was thrilled to see it is still being sold. It really will last you a long time.

Debris Embedded in Mug

Impressed with how compact and lightweight the cookset is, however the one that I purchased had debris embedded in one of the plastic mugs along with what looks like a fine hair. That's kind of gross if you ask me. I called GSI Outdoors customer service about replacing the bowl and they said to return it to the store I purchased it from. Apparently they'd rather have me return the set, which will probably get sold to someone else, than to replace the disgusting mug that I received which should probably be thrown out.

Good stuff

I’ve been using this set for a while, roughly 4 years. I used to backpack with my dad and we used this set. Never had any issues with it. The sleeve around the drinking bowl helps when you want hot chocolate/coffee in the morning and don’t want to burn your hands. Recently started using it with my fiancé when we go backpacking together, and it works great. Perfect size for anything. Easy enough to clean, depending on what your cook in it. Small enough to where it doesn’t take up too much room in your pack. I really like that it all packs up into the main pot, very efficient use of space. Not heavy at all. Love this product

Great for occasional camping

The main pot is really good. Would be perfect if the cover was also metal. There is a lot of utility in a very small package: 4 bowls and potentially gas canister + stove can fit in it too. The downside is the smell. Gas canisters often leak a little or the stove has the gas smell and that will stick to the plastic bowls. Food smell will also stick to it, it is possible to remove it with vinegar, but not with regular dishsoap, so it gets pretty disgusting in a long run. I go titanium everything now and don't look back as it's flawless.

Lightweight set

I ordered this set because I needed a bigger pot for boiling water and I like that it comes with two bowls that fit conveniently inside for storage. I use it for car camping, but still like to pack light as we have plenty of other gear to take up too much space. The pot may be too big for backpacking, but it certainly is lightweight. It’s perfect for 2 people…for boiling enough water for us each to have a generous cup of coffee. We use it to make camp meals too…couscous, pasta, etc.

Love how small this packs down, and that the bowls fit within one another. Perfect for 1to 3 person backpacking, depending on your needs. I like that if I'm solo camping, I can take 2 of the bowls out and fit my fuel cannister in the setup as well. The insulation around the bowls is sort of flimsy, but it provides a nice layer to hold when sipping hot drinks or soup in the evening.

Great product.

Goes with me on all bikepacking, and camping trips. It's light weight, and breaks down easily. If you are only cooking for yourself you can leave out one of the bowl sets and and gas canister fits in there perfectly to save some more space. I also like to keep my lighter, instant coffee, and oatmeal in the other bowl to save more room. Highly recommend.

Everything you need and nothing more!

I’ve had the microdualist for years now. It is exactly what you need for two people (drink and food bowl) with no unnecessary extras. The pot works great for boiling water or making simple dishes. I’d default to this over the regular sized dualist if you care about weight at all. Only downside is you can’t fit as large a fuel canister inside this one.

Compact and easy

I used this while on a month long road trip/backpacking tour. Very easy to clean and lightweight. The pot held enough water for 2 meals. And the bag it comes in is excellent for washing dishes. It can be a little bit annoying to eat ramen with the sporks because the tines are quite shallow but that is my only complaint.

Simple and well made

Able to cook food and serve for two over the last 4 days. The sporks worked surprisingly well, pot was big enough for two packages of Mac n cheese or two ramens at once. Able to fit my stove and lighter inside the container and even slip a fuel stabilizer in the bag next to the pot. Well done.
