LOVED IT!!!

Just got back from a 10 day Colorado elk hunt that ranged from single digits to upper 20's. This puffy was perfect in the cold weather, nice and long back with long sleeves. Hood was awesome as well. The packability was great and allowed me the ability to tote along for when the temps dropped unexpectedly with the winds. Ordered an XL and was very true to size. I wore it over my base layers and then wore a wind break jacket over it. My only complaint was that shipping and communication was quite sub par. Barely got the jackets in time for my trip. I gave it a 10 and 5 stars because of the product though.

Warm, light, incredible fit.

Awesome job Mammut! Just by putting this jacket on you can tell it is made with superior attention to detail. The fit is incredible, you hardly know you're wearing it. Nice and light thanks to the Pertex Quantum material and 800fill down. Mammut does not cheap out with the amount of down either, the baffles are stuffed with more down than competitor's jackets making this jacket actually as warm as it is supposed to be. Home run Mammut! Only critique I could possibly have is that I don't believe the down is treated to be water-resistant. The awesome exterior fabric makes up for this, however.

Warm and extremely lightweight

I bought this jacket as a regular all season rock climber needing a warm outer layer with minimal layers underneath. This jacket packs so small, is lightweight, and provides so much warmth all while I have a T shirt underneath. This item is great for all seasons with its 800 rating and is great for anyone who adventure outdoors regularly.

Light weight warmth

This jacket weighs nothing but it does a fantastic job warming up quick and keeping you warm even when the temperatures drop and the wind picks up. Really have been impressed with this jacket so far. Fit was a little surprising. Guide on the website lined up similar to other European brands like Dynafit, but I found this jacket to fit a bit boxier than the leaner fit I was expecting, based on the measurements. I picked the right size for sure, it just has a little more room which is nice for layering. My measurements were 41.5, 34, 40 and the large fits well. I'm 5'10.

Solid jacket. I primarily use this as a packable insulating layers for 3 season backcountry trips. Has a great weight to warmth ratio and packs down well. Have had a couple years and only has the odd piece of down feather spill through the seems. Fit is definitely for slimmer builds which is perfect for me. Only part i do not like about jacket is when fully zipped up the collar comes up well past your mouth. this is odd considering its down and your breath will rapidly saturated it. Would have been better if cut lower and the zipper simply ended snug to the neck or chin.

Great Piece of Gear

Like all Mammut products the quality is top notch. Down fill weight and overall construction is some of the best I've used. So far have taken it on some sub-freezing nights as a camp puffy, but have plans to use this as my over-it-all down jacket for some winter mountaineering in the Presidential Range. The warmth of this coat is unreal. My one main complaint is the fit. The cut is VERY narrow in the shoulders and armpits. Part of that was my own sizing - should have gone for the large! That said, if you plan on wearing this over any type of other layer, size up. The waist of the coat is a very athletic taper, so going up a size or even two would be good. All said, if you size it right, this one won't disappoint.

It's a down jacket

It's a very good jacket. It's light and packable as mammut claimed, and for its weight I was impressed with the warmth. However, it's very important you get the sizing right. I'm 6'2", 165 lbs and I ordered a large and it's too big. So this has probably skewed my view, but it's just not as warm as I was hoping. I'll probably buy a medium in the future. Also, as of this review, as other reviews have said, it sheds down quite a lot. For a 300 something dollar jacket, it's disappointing. Still, its harness compatibility and packability is impressive. If I end up buying another in a medium I will update this review, and it'll hopefully be a more accurate review to its quality. I had high hopes for it, but I'm a bit dissapointed.

Love the trim fit and finish of this jacket!

If you have a slimmer athletic build, these jackets are amazing! I find most clothing today to fit the chest area, but are way too bulky in the lower torso. That might work well for those with a large belly, but it's difficult for those without. This jacket is the opposite of that. It feels tailored, not too tight but certainly form fitting. The arm lengths are slightly longer and the length is adequate. It doesn't have the ability to tighten the hood, but fully zipped up I haven't found that to be an issue overall.

Alaskan Arborist

This jacket is great. Feathers seem to stay in. Its light and cozy and fits well to my form. I bought a medium and I'm 6'0 175lbs for reference. What I like best about this jacket is that the cuffs and hem at the waist sit snuggly to my body to keep the wind out. Ive tried on many puffy jackets and I think these cuffs are some of the best. My only complaint is that the stitching inside my left pocket is a little wonky and my fingers fit in there uneven. All in all though, I'm very happy with this purchase.
