Good boot, nice fit
I just received these boots and tried them on. Great fit, out of the box. A little “pinchy” at the top where the fluffed collar is, but I expect this to get better during break in. My only dissatisfaction is with the zipper on the right boot. It is not seen in properly at the top, causing the zip and the leather to buckle ineard on itself a bit.
So glad I purchased these boots!
I am very glad I made this purchase. The boots are very comfortable and the treads are made for traction in wet and snow. This was very important to me as I do not want to slip and fall at my age. I read in the reviews that some customers struggled with putting the boots on. I have to pull hard for my right foot only but there is a strong tab at the top of the boot. The boots are waterproof, soft inside with great treads so having to pull a bit to put them on is secondary to me for the excellent quality and safety.

Love these boots!
Love these boots! I was a little hesitant in ordering these boots after reading some of the reviews. I have a high arch and have never purchased a zip ankle boots. I was worried after reading the reviews that I would have trouble getting them on. I have been buying Merrell winter boots and hiking shoes for years and have never been disappointed so I took the chance. These are now my favourite boots. I just love them!!! I’ve had no problems getting them on nor zipper issues. They are extremely comfortable, very well made and look great. I ordered them on a Tuesday around 5:30 pm and they were delivered early Thursday afternoon. What more could I ask for? Thanks again Merrell for making a quality pair of boots.
IMPOSSIBLE to put on
I have several Merrell footwear items that are excellent, including two pairs of hiking boots and a pair of Merrell mocs. However, this boot is NOT of typical Merrell quality. It is IMPOSSIBILE to put on, as the zippered opening is insufficient for a normal foot. Hard to believe that this passed Merrell's quality tests. Returning these very disappointed.
Tight around ankles
Waited a long time for these since they were backordered. Finally got to try them on. They are very tight and stiff around the ankles... and I don't even have winter socks on yet. Walking with them was kind of clunky. They don't have a comfortable heel to toe rolling motion. Love the way they look but bummed about the construction.
Stylish and functional
I purchased these boots about a month ago... I don't normally buy on line - so I was a bit hesitant. The boots fit true to size.. They are very comfortable and very solid.. you feel very sturdy walking with them ( there is a good grip).. They are difficult to put on as the opening is not wide as you pull them on..but I can manage.The zipper is good.. no issues... I haven't worn them for long walks in the cold, but they seem to be warm... They are stylish, comfortable and functional..
Very Poor!!
I purchased these at the beginning of winter. Never wore them. So disappointed!! It requires a lot of hard work and time to put these boots on, if you can get them on at all! I do like everything about their looks, and the style was what I was looking for. I have worn many Merrell products in the past. These are something else! Some one did not do their homework! Pretty sure no product testing was done. So very disappointed and out a lot of money!!
Warm and Dry
Love love love these boots. Keep my feet warm and dry but I don’t get sweaty in them. Comfortable to wear all day if necessary.
expensive but hopefully worth it
very happy with my purchase, good warm boots for winter comfortable too. read reviews don't know what all the fuss was about trying to get them on, no problem for me. seem true to size 6.5M, really like Vibram sole for myself in Alberta, would have tried wide width (which was unavailable) but didn't need it anyway. recommended for dog walking on trails.
