Good boot, nice fit
I just received these boots and tried them on. Great fit, out of the box. A little “pinchy” at the top where the fluffed collar is, but I expect this to get better during break in. My only dissatisfaction is with the zipper on the right boot. It is not seen in properly at the top, causing the zip and the leather to buckle ineard on itself a bit.
I'd give these boots a "C"
These boots are warm and waterproof but they do have some shortcomings. I hate wearing socks, so the plastic-y unpleasant feel of the insoles forced me to buy a pair of shearling insoles. Also, the zippers are very stiff and difficult to open and close. The gusset inside the zipper made the opening very small so that it was a real wrestling match to get them on my feet and the gusset fabric rubbed the skin off my ankles. I fixed this by cutting one side of the gusset so that it will wrap smoothly over my ankles.
Great boot with one problem
These boots are perfect in almost every way. Waterproof, warm, nice looking, and really good traction. However, they are hard to get on if you have a high arch. I‘ve been wearing them for a few weeks and I still use a shoe horn and the rear loop to pull them on. My friend with lower arches can pull them on easily.
Feet are Warm & Toasty
A lot of people reviewed the boots are tight by the ankle so I was skeptical when I purchased them. They were right, they are tight on the ankle so I unzipped them about 1/2 inch and they are very comfortable. The zipper stays put being a half inch unzipped even when I walked 3 miles in them.

Love these boots!
Love these boots! I was a little hesitant in ordering these boots after reading some of the reviews. I have a high arch and have never purchased a zip ankle boots. I was worried after reading the reviews that I would have trouble getting them on. I have been buying Merrell winter boots and hiking shoes for years and have never been disappointed so I took the chance. These are now my favourite boots. I just love them!!! I’ve had no problems getting them on nor zipper issues. They are extremely comfortable, very well made and look great. I ordered them on a Tuesday around 5:30 pm and they were delivered early Thursday afternoon. What more could I ask for? Thanks again Merrell for making a quality pair of boots.
These boots were made for walking
Good looking, warm and comfortable. I forgot my shoes at home one day and wore my boots to the office. I would do it again on purpose 😉
Stylish and functional
I purchased these boots about a month ago... I don't normally buy on line - so I was a bit hesitant. The boots fit true to size.. They are very comfortable and very solid.. you feel very sturdy walking with them ( there is a good grip).. They are difficult to put on as the opening is not wide as you pull them on..but I can manage.The zipper is good.. no issues... I haven't worn them for long walks in the cold, but they seem to be warm... They are stylish, comfortable and functional..
Good boot
I loved these boots the minute I put them on. Fit was good, and they were comfortable. Two comments for why I gave them 4 stars instead of five: 1. They are not as antislip as I had hoped they would be, despite advertising the sole that way. But still a good sole. 2. They are hard to get on because I have a high instep and the top of the boot is rigid, The side zip does not give me an easy entry. Otherwise they are a terrific boot. My second pair of Merrells. I would rebuy.
