Perfect airbag

On my way back from Hokkaido 7 days backcountry touring. This puck ticked all the boxes including travel convenience, weight, functionality and comfort. Big pluses are the upgraded activation handle w LED, simple arm/disarm, color coded zip ties a huge plus designating different compartments, easy attach leg strap and ski straps that stay out of the way of a bag deployment. Only gripe is the waist belt strap that didn’t want to stay tight for a snug fit, bit of duct tape fixed that. Ran a BCA radio from the pack thru centre loop to center chest strap. Could have used a better way to thread the wire to not be too loose, but splitting hairs here - Overall great bag that was the envy of the group and the guide!

Solid Airbag/BC Pack

I purchased this bag to be my sole BC ski pack and it has proven to accomplish this. From a safety perspective the electric fan inflatable airbag is great especially because I can practice multiple inflations to be prepared. The dedicated avalanche tool pocket is key along with the smaller essentials pocket next to it. I purchased the 25L and quickly realized that for my tour gear I like to take, it is small. But of course I can purchase the add ons pack extenders, but I might have purchased the 35L for that reason. I was also impressed by the weight for a fan airbag pack.

Not 100% convinced yet

I don't have a whole lot of experience with Avi packs, and have never needed to deploy one. No first hand experience on that level. I opted to buy this pack because I travel a lot and not having to buy or fill cartridges every time I go somewhere seems like a convenient choice. It inflates faster than I expected and it is very easy to use and re-pack. The part that I'm not (yet) happy about is the form fitting of the pack itself. The pack is pretty heavy and sizeable. The back is almost flat and does not follow the form of the body, making it feel clumsy. I might just have to wear it longer to get used to it? Not sure.

5 stars great pack

This bag is very comparable in weight to previously owned canister bags, and carries additional weigh of stowed gear very well. Deployment is a breeze and literally a turbo charged one. Having the ability to practice deployment with out a refill station in between is far beyond what any canister style pack offers. Specific avy tool compartment and the helmet sling are easy to use and essential for the backcountry traveler. My only complaint is the hip belt attachment, which I prefer to be centered rather than off to the right. This is a minor detail and actually becomes easier with continued use. Other than that well this bag is worth the investment and highly recommended.

Should be a backpack first and an Airbag second

I'm a believer that any airbag should be designed as a backpack first and an airbag second. The Jet Force system is a good idea and it's separated itself from the canister style but this pack doesn't pack well and that's one of the primary reasons I often don't use it. The weight isn't as big of a deal for me as the poor packability is. I find myself rezipping the airbag zipper multiple times through a tour because it pops open and unzips when the pack actually has items in it that you'd need on a tour. I've also found that the 320cm probe and Evac 7 shovel don't fit great in this pack and some of the other BD packs. As a working avalanche professional, this bag leaves some to be desired.

Happy with all but 1 thing

The pack has improved greatly from the design of my Pieps Jetforce Tour Rider 24. Love that I can switch sides with pull handle. I use mine with snowmobiling. It's lighter and much less bulky with same capacity. What i don't like is that there's no way to have a radio in the pack and route the wire into a strap as a more permanent location. I had to cut a hole in the fabric. I know skiers and snowboarders carry radios also. Aside from that I like the pack. I have not put much in it as I won't want the zipper to separate as I've read it does. I haven't ridden with it yet either. But soon.

So great to be able to test airbag before hitting the slopes. Easy to repack. I really like the diagnostics test with Bluetooth to PIEPS app. Gives me assurance that everything thing is working properly and ready to go. Right now the 25L size is working well for me but at some point I may decide to buy the 35L add-on. Nice to have that option without having to buy whole new pack. Also nice that I was able to fit my insulated water line from main compartment into the backpack shoulder strap without impeding the airbag system. Makes for easy access to staying hydrated. Nice job BD!

So thankful for this product. In talking with some of my peers, some have only deployed their traditional canister based systems once, when they first bought it. Still others have had instances where it may have been reasonable to deploy, but they didn't because of the hassle in getting it charged again. While being a bit heavier due to the battery/system, the convenience when travelling, multiple deployments, and modular design far outweigh the small weight penalty. On a recent trip to the Sawtooths, I reached area what was quite reactive, but not prone to sliding because of the slope angle. Knowing that even in a low consequence area I could delpoy if I got a bit nervous made me feel at ease. One person in my party did just that.. deployed prematurely on hearing and feeling the whumping sound... Nothing more happened thankfully, but it ended his day. The storage on the 25L is feels like 35. I can stuff a lot in there for those long/overnight tours, or zip on the smaller pod and have a nice, streamlined package. Way to go BD on another amazing product!

Not having to deal with

Not having to deal with refilling canisters or travel hassles is super important to me, and I’ve been very happy with the jet force for this reason. No questions asked getting on my flight to AK. I’d love for it to be a little lighter (hence the 4 stars), but I’m only using it for guiding heli skiing so the weight isn’t a huge issue. The weight has deterred me from bringing it touring. Plenty of space for a rad line, rescue gear, aid kit, layers, and water. I’ve used it about 7 days this season thus far without plugging it in and am still showing a full charge.

zip on bag

I'm so disappointed with the zip on bag. Both the 25l Split as the 35L. IT is so badly equipped. I have been trying to put my stuff in but it just feels like one a big baggy bag. Just throw it in. No chance to organize stuff. This will def start moving while skiing or on my board. I actually considering to return the whole pack. It feels like the whole abs vario drama all over again. Please tell me other brands are working on additional add ons. disappointed guys! sorry..
