Great design, but the blade steel could be better.

Positives: excellent ergonomic design, ambidextrous, very smooth operation, good blade geometry, comfortable deep pocket carry, good all-arounder. Negatives: for the price, the blade material should be at least D2 or better yet Bohler n690 in 2024. This 440A steel doesn't hold an edge too long, but at least it's stainless and easy to sharpen.

Awesome knife !

I just purchased this knife after returning the Benchmade carbon fiber Bugout . I felt the Bugout was way to expensive to use for what I wanted it for aside from an EDC . I decided on the Gerber Scout and I’m glad I did because it’s stout and feels well made . This blade is mint and a great size and shape . The whole construction of the knife is awesome and feels solid , as if I could even baton with it . I just wish this knife was made in the US .

Solid performer, good value

Bought this knife as a budget EDC and campground knife. Was warned the blade steel was 'sub par' but so far it has cut smoothly (cardboard boxes, small twigs and branches, rope, etc.) and kept its edge. And the overall design and construction has impressed me, with the 'Axis' style locking mechanism, the micarta scales, and the deep-carry pocket clip. This is a thoughtfully designed and well made knife at a budget price point.

Great EDC

Great all around knife for everyday carry. I am no expert, but this knife has performed well in every instance I have needed it and remained super sharp. Would recommend with zero hesitation.

Awesome

Perfect knife. The handle is very comfortable as it’s not metal and is very light and strong. The locking mechanism is very sturdy and I love the sleek design especially with no thumb pins on the blade that so easily get caught and are annoying. Overall great knife.
