This jacket was NOT warm and my arms froze. The inner jacket hand pockets do not have zippers. The phone pocket and arm pass pocket have a weird seam so they pull open (not unzipped). The quality was not what I would expect from North Face. I am so thankful for the REI member return policy.
I was not impressed with this jacket. At this price point it should keep me warm on the slopes on a cold day. The wind blows right through it and my mid section was cold. I liked that it had the 2 in 1 option and the extra pockets and vents. If you live somewhere warmer this might be a good jacket for fall or sunny ski days but not for a cold winter day.
I really love this jacket, though I haven’t tested it in really cold weather yet. I have been looking for a tri-style jacket for a while. Some previous years’ North Face ones didn’t seem to fit me, but this one feels great. I love the inner light puffy and love the outer jacket material. I tried another brand that was warmer but just felt bulky. This one is not as warm I think, but I can always add a layer.
This coat is amazing but not for $400 freaking dollars
Never again. I have previously had Therm 3-in-1 jackets that lasted 20+ years. I finally bought a new jacket from a NF mall store. The new jacket has an iron on logo and inferior zipper. The arms have almost zero mobility, even sizing up. I can barely drive, much less use ski poles. The logo peeled off in the first week in Jan 2024. The zipper repeatedly comes undone from the bottom when zipped.
I've happily worn this jacket snow machining for the past few years. Recently discovered that you can fit a whole bottle of wine, upright in the pocket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took this jacket to Alaska in -40 degree Fahrenheit temperatures. Kept me warm!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fit is great. The coat is super warm. Skied at -15 and didn't get cold.
I bought this jacket for my bicycle commute--I wanted an option for cycling in any weather, including rain. The shell fabric is truly breathable *and* waterproof. The thermoball down filling is warmer than down, yet lightweight. There is amazing quality of materials, construction and attention to detail that makes this jacket a cut above. Fit is is also excellent. This jacket is an investment, but totally worth it.
I bought this jacket on sale and sized up to a medium (I’m 5’4, ~130lbs) because I knew I was going to wear more layers under the jacket on the east coast. It kept me warm and dry while it was snowing in Vermont. I also wore this jacket while skiing in warmer weather at Mammoth and just removed the inner layer. The shell was great and kept me warm even on the summit!
